Description: at popular!

well, i was picked up this book. i think it was everything magic or something. for beginners in magic. didn't read much but 1 section caught my eye. it was the "what cards to use?"

naturally, i was interested and read it. the author advised people to use red backed bicycle rider cards. i was like "hey where's the blue?"

the author went on to say that in p******, red is harder to show up than blue.

this is interesting because all this while, blue is the darker colour and darker colour tend not to show up easily throught the fingers.

can anyone explain the science or anythng OR have you had the similar theory? ^_^

Red against skin i guess.

I don't get it. When you p**m cards, fingers closed, period. Who cares what colors shows up better and what not. If you can't p**m cards with fingers closed, don't do it!!

There ARE people who have windows in their hands. Are you saying that these people shouldn't p*** cards?

I have a friend with long skinny fingers - he can p*** off cards like nobody's business. P*****g is about angles dude, not about whether your fingers are 'closed' or not.

Totally agree with Farid, even though i dun do the sleight, but its not about closing or not closing. Gordon did it with expose on one side of his hand, well hand is thin.. But the misdirection and angle makes everything work. To me its perfect alreadi.

So its the style that you need to find out for urself in this sleight, in order to perfect it.

I can P mini decks. :g:

Back on topic, just the other day Ning was saying she heard that most serious cardicians uses red decks and she was wondering why. I said i never heard of it but now there seems to be some truth in it?
I dunno....it does feel like too small a variable to me...

Anyways, there is a quick and dirty solution to skinny hands P-ing cards.

I guess red is closer to skin colour, that's why.

Proper misdirections gets you there. Not colour.

Maybe one of the reasons could be because it less obvious when palming.
But for me, the real reasons for me is that red is a brighter colour, while blue is dull. Being brighter means it can be more easily seen by the audience.

I have read that book about using red cards too, I think it's called Everthing about Magic or Magic for Dummies...

In my opinion, I think p***ing has nothing to to do with the colour, cos for people like me who have gaps between fingers, I still able to P off quite nicely, it;s all in the misdirection. So far I have never got caught, whether red or blue backed.

Anyway, I noticed most gimmicks cards tend to be blue. I tried to find red but can't. Anyone know why?

i think the only reason why red cards are more prefered than blue is because people tend to be attentive to brighter colours. thus, when you are using a red back vs a blue back the audience will also tend to follow and pay more attention to what you will do.

this is just my 2 cents worth. i might be wrong.
