Title: Don't Mis-use The Forum
Description: Marketplace is not your dumping ground

ninku10 - May 20, 2006 02:24 AM (GMT)
To all sellers,

Recently, i had a very unpleasant experience with one of the member (lamerx2003) for selling his stuff in the marketplace. He sold me his SMS and during the meetup, i examine the stuff and noted that one of the m***** seem "weird" as i can feel that it is not in one piece.I asked him how come this is so and he told me the m***** was in that condition when he receive from his dealer. Not knowing how the kit work, i bought the stuff from him.
Upon reaching home, i watched the dvd and realised what I have gotten differs from what was to be included in the package. Once i discovered it, i asked lamerx for a refund(think it is on the sunday) but he told me he had spent my money and can't refund me.
He challengned me saying i can't ask for a refund since i knew the secret. Well what can i say? I told him i will forget about it. However, i reported this to the moderator of this forum to let him know about it. He told me is is reasonable to ask for a refund for a kit that you can't use even if you knew the secret. He wanted me to report this but i told him i will ask lamerx again.
As is the case, he told me he can't refund me and so i ask if he could exchange the sms for a dvd instead. This is what he reply on the message,

I quote : "if you dun mind it pirated i got a lot to exchange"

I was fumed when i saw it. Hell with him to exchange my money for pirated stuff and how dare he have the intention to want to exchange with me pirated stuff. In the end, we took a step back and he told me he will refund me $20 and let me keep the stuff. This happened on thursday and up to now, no news from him.

I may want to bring this up to the authorities (the pirated thing) and hopefully the law can do something to him.

I just want to make it clear that the marketplace is definitely not a place for you newbies to abuse!!!

Before we go further, lamerx2003 might want to try and explain it here.

I would REALLY like to hear your side of the story too lamerx2003....

How did you come about the prop?
Was it damaged when you bought it too?
If it was, did you buy it from someone from SMC too?

I've checked with him... this boy means no malice! He got it from a local eBay seller, but this person could very well be on the forum since this is afterall, a free place. In other words, this boy got ripped off and wasn't aware of it. Ninku10 was unfortunately, an innocent victim in a way.

Lamerx2003 will follow up soon on more details... He's mentioned that he's going to contact ninku10 directly to work someting out. Meanwhile, he's also going to share the details of this online magic seller, i.e. username & bank account so others can stay away from dishonest people like him!

Great to see that things can turn out well. U 2 go talk it out.. :)

This is a reminder to all members in this forum, here we have a market place that allows users to sell their products, onli legal stuff though. And the percentage that it is pirated is very low. And we always recommand a meet up to be done and the items to be checked before making the deal.

As for other marketplace, like yahoo market, auction, or ebay, its up to ur risk to buy that stuff. Cause most of the time, the dealers will wan you to transfer the money before they send the product, and when u recieved it, it might be pirated, or damaged, and even if u complain, there is nothing you can do abt it.

So practise safe dealing, talk to our dealers, understand the pricing, understand the product, before making a purchase.

I would still like to hear lamerx2003 say his side of the story..

I feel that people should stop helping others to make a thread to sell things. By doing this, it totally defeats the purpose of to having a total of 50 posts before being able to start a topic in the Marketplace.

Its becoming a trend recently, I thought. "Selling Stuffs - Contact ****" What is this? Aloy might as well remove the "50 posts" rule..

I'm not trying to say that whoever is doing something like that is wrong or bad or anything negative, but neither can I say that its perfectly fine or GREAT or thats a wonderful "idea" (Having someone to help you post). In fact, it is NOT FAIR to those who've made contributions to the Forums before being able to use the Marketplace. <_<

Perhaps I'm wrong, but its just my opinion. The Marketplace does not have the "50 posts" rule thingy for nothing, and when you ask someone to help you do it, it simply defeats the purpose of the rule; using the marketplace as a dumping ground.

Yeah.. Its not fair.. for those who wants to sell your stuff please reach 50 posts.. Do not join this forum just because you want to sell your things.

Aloy - May 20, 2006 05:42 PM (GMT)
It's 80 posts... B)

This has been bought this up too and I have made a post about this to the regulars...

For me, personally, i like to give the regulars more "freedom" around here in SMC, for them to be more comfortable and make things easier for them. The regulars shouldn't be the group we have to put rules on...
But like what they say, sometimes "Gei3 Ni3 Fang1 Bian4 Ni3 Dang1 Sui2 Bian4" B)

Anyways, we are reviewing and discussing this in the Mod's room, so we shall see how it goes...thanks for the feedback thou. :)

And I'm still waiting to hear your side of the story lamerx2003...

Sorry for late reply .. computer break down .i bought the beoken sms from ebay and i only use it one so i am not sure if it broken or what and as i am not using it i decide to sell it away at a very low price . i never intend to dump any unwanted item it just that i am very in need of money due to some personal reasons . Anyway i had already refund ninku 1/2 the amount of money and let him keep the sms and the dvd .. he agree with it .

Just a note to ninku:

For the broken SMS, you could always get a "replacement" with the creator.
So if you would really want to use SMS, you can always get the replacement pad.

Just for your info. :)

Peace
