Hi all,
I'm Tze Ting and i'm from NUS.Currently there's this community project organised by the community service club(CSC) in NUS called Movie Under The Stars. Basically its to raise funds for 2 organsiations: Handicap Welfare Association (HWA) and the Association for Persons with Special Needs (APSN). Its tentatively going to be held on the 14th Feb 2005 at Fort Canning Green from 530pm to 11pm. There will be a performance time slot from 545pm to 7pm.

As this is for a charitable cause, we do not have the funds to pay for your fees and can only hope that a few of you kind hearted souls out there are able to help out. heh..Its also a good way to showcase your talents too!

This event is mainly targeted at couples. (which is quite obvious)However, i do not know what are the magic tricks(do you all call them that?I'm sorry but i'm a utter novice at this) that would impress them. I supposed all those out there who practice it will know.

Morph..you might wanna add a Guest account so that such people can post for free.. and ask us for help. This is like becoming a pro organisation. hahaha..

Honestly, unless you're a really pro stage magician..its hard to make a magic show last more than an hour.. its not the amount of tricks you have to know.. but the attention span and interest of the audience.

For that.. you might wanna include other acts like Trapeze artists, elephant dances, or invite Britney Spears to do a number :D

Good idea. Will look into a guest "postable" area.

Yeah, in this case, maybe a walk around is more suitable. Some lovey mushy themed tricks would be fitting, like Floating Rose.....

Then again, if some stranger come up to my gf and do a floating rose and impressed the heck out of her and finally produce a real rose for her, ON OUR DATE, I'm not too sure I'll be super happy. :unsure:

oh...i 4got to say..it wun be necessary to perform 4 so long..they need a few short performances instead of 1 long performance.So magic shows is just 1 of the shows that we r currently looking at.As for the details what would you need?heh..coz the organiser charged me with finding the performances to fill the 545pm to 7pm time slot,so anything u wish to noe just ask me.

As for the date,yeah its being set purposely on that date.Also, i will be having my exams from next week onwards to the 26th so i may not be able to reply as promptly as i would like to.So if there's any time lag in me replying any of the posts i'm sincerely sorry.

ermm.....feb 14 2005.....still a bit far away, still cannot project tat far. .....but mostly likely cannot get a girlfrend by 14 2005, so i will be free on this date, count me in. is this a walk around, perform magic and ask for donations?

Should think of performing on stage using the couples as assistance.
Interaction should be the word to use.

Those who think of performing should think of getting couples on stage to help up in your magic show. This way, the couples will get closer, right?
So many tricks can perform with couples.
If I got time, I will do the show myself. Just for the fun of it. I'm married, don't worry!

Heh heh... me too... well if Ning, rh and any other gals aren't attached, they can b our substitue gfs during the show ;)

Hmm... welll i also remember reading somewhere that a certain someone can dance to all the tracks on zhou jie lun's album... that's make a good 50+ min performance i'd say =P we can do magic in the background heh

Anyways, i'm trying to see if the organisers will give all performers a complimentary ticket that they can bring their dates along for the day, to make it more "feasible" for performers on the day B)
