Title: The Little Magic Shop

Falcon121 - June 1, 2006 03:20 AM (GMT)
As part of the The Little Magic Shop's re-opening, I have been requested as a reapeat customer to write a review on our local dealer Ning and her shop.

Ning is a tall and beautiful chick that carries herself with an air of elegance. Her smile is simply brilliant... *slaps self in the face* wait. Not that kind of review...

*Ahem*... Back to the topic.

The little magic shop, really is quite little. So little it doesn't even exist in the material world, rather its presence is felt in the virtual reality we call the internet. This is an advantage over other shops which really exisist is that the The Little Magic Shop doesn't pay rent so, so obviously the cost of running The Little Magic Shop is reduced and therefore this also makes the stuff we order cheaper.

Though non-exisitent in the material world, it carries basic supplies like flash paper, flash pads, gaff cards etc. that most magicians would need; with regards to these popular products, I would think there is no need to order as the The Little Magic Shop usually has stock of them, and is ideal if you're in a hurry and want to get your goods fast.

Speaking of speed, for some reason, the shipping from overseas to the The Little Magic Shop always seems to be alot quicker. We would normally expect things we order from penguin or ellusionist or from any other dealer to arrive like in about 1-3 weeks. But The Little Magic Shop is pretty fast, correct me if I'm wrong, like 3-4 days.

Erm... the The Little Magic Shop like all magic shops, be it virtual or otherwise, runs a repeat customer as well as referral based buisness. And therefore it is very customer satifaction and confidence oriented, hence, Ning's request for me to post this dealer review. Customer satifaction streches to the point where a gimmick that I once bought through the The Little Magic Shop broke and I was offered a replacement FOC even though the gimmick's - for the lack of a better word- death was largely my fault.

So yeah, on a whole, the The Little Magic Shop is greatly recommended.

LarryDK - June 1, 2006 03:37 AM (GMT)
Well spoken.

I was not told for a review, but i certainly will like to make one.

The Little Magic Shop is the first path i went into for my props, my effects, almost everything, maybe except decks ba. But like me say, its great. Why? Because you will have a beautiful dealer getting stuff for you, second, you get good price for your stuff, and the dealer is very responsive to your enquires.

Not only just the inital dealings, after you bought the stuff, anything wrong, she is more than willing to help you in it, no complains, nothing.. You cant get that kind of customer service in shops. And of course, being in working life and study life now, yet she can bring this kind of service to you, it is thumbs up i can say. :)

Last by not least, it harmless to ask her anything about the new stuff in the market, (but not all stuffs are carried by murphy by the way) and if she can advise you further on that effect, she will just shoot everything on you, harmlessly. :)

So ask for her number, and start "dating" her. (Without Aloy knowing by the way)

Ning - June 1, 2006 09:16 AM (GMT)
LOL... Thanks, you guys!!! My head's still big after all the pretty compliments. Hee... Yeah, I do try to give you the best service, help and advise where possible (REMEMBER- only get the stuff you will use!!! Don't waste money on stuff that are just hot or in trned but would stay in your cupboard way later), as well as, prices... since most of us here are studying anyways. Magic is not a cheap hobby art, so I try my best to make it affordable :) No one should be deprived right?

Anways! Just in case y'all aren't aware yet... a lucky customer will win $10 in store credit from me every month starting NOW. Yeah, I'm just feeling nice & generous... You can read all the details here.

I'll be away this weekend for a short overseas magic convention, but I'll be back Sunday night. Meanwhile, just feel free to drop me a PM if you have any enquiries. The complete catalogue is here. Thanks...

Cheers!!!
Ning ^_^

The Little Magic Shop is back... with a BANG!

You see sales, ordering from murphys and her personal magic props every so often. Ning is finally back. And how glad are we to see her. Don't deny it guys.

It is not easy being a dealer. In fact, it can be quite tedious and difficult, especially when all the orders taken are given the benefit of the doubt that they will be collected. Proof? Look at how Mac and I are trying to rid of our decks which have not been collected. Being a dealer like Ning does is risky. Of course, the system has changed. Being reputable in SMC, you pay now before she orders it for you. And i can say firmly, she won't play you out. Just ask all the satisfied customers.

We have to know that magic supplies are perfect substitute goods. It simply means you can check out prices from other dealers before you decide to place an order. And you can choose the cheapest price available. Competition is rife being a magic supply dealer. Yet, you still have frequent sales from her and shipping fee absorbed! The prices are seriously low. But she's still surviving to bring us the best! Just look at how magic shops in Singapore open, only to close down after a few months.

For the case of The Little Magic Shop, she provides excellent customer service. Remember how you wanted to ask a question about that computer but didn't and then bought it on impulse only to find out it's not you wanted? Well, it won't happen with Ning. She treats everybody like her friend. You can be open and enquire her about anything you want to buy. Just think of where else you can get such service.

Technical information. Collection are usually at Little India MRT or town area. Easy and convenient for everybody.

I believe i don't have to say much for her regular customers. For those who are new, you are in good hands with The Little Magic Shop.

Ning - June 5, 2006 08:59 AM (GMT)
Thanks guys ^_^ I just like to make everything simple & transparent... that's been my style since I started way back, even before other people started doinbg this, as most of you guys know.

I'm back in SG from the magic convention @ MMF... so will be replying to all your messages & emails in a bit. Thank you for your patience :)

Ning

Here’s my review on Ning’s little magic shop

Since I started magic three years ago, I’ve been buying props and cards from magic shop dealers. I’m not trying to say that the magic dealers in shops out there are over priced but they are very expensive, since they need to cover the rents and stuffs. Being a student, I don’t have extra cash to spend on magic, and this result in me buying DVDs and resell them, or getting props that are of poorer quality. And it’s difficult for poor quality props to produce quality magic.

After spending over thousand of dollars(It means a lot to a student :( ) on over priced products and poor quality props, I found my best route to continue my magic journey~ a dealer, young and beautiful, and provide cheap, quality products.

Also, being a very experience magcienne, she’s capable of giving valuable advices on your purchase. I bet most of the time in most magic shops the dealer’s advice is quite standard: everything also good, every time want you to get an appearing cane etc. but you wont get to hear those standard lines from ning. Because she’s our friend, she’s here to provide the poor kids with cheap products, to help us.

One very good example will be my last purchase. LOL
6usd+6usd+3usd=15usd but she’s selling me at 9usd~

That’s a crazy 30% discount with no shipping!!!!

We all love magic and respect the art, but sometimes our budget just don’t allow us to do so. However, with Ning, we can get original products only slightly more expensive/in most cases, cheaper than pirated goods.

Why are you paying for pirated goods when you get get the originals at cheaper price?
I got my D’lite from Ning. It’s original, and it’s cheap.(30 sing dollars if I remembered correctly)

I still remembered last time ppl asked me: where did you bought your original dvd for <40 Singapore dollars?

Here, in MMF/SMC, at the little magic shop.

See more reviews about her here!

Its as good as it gets.

Here's my review of the Little Magic Shop :

Probably the best magic shop since the dealer's fexible, really really affordable prices and she's nice! And if you have any other problems, she'll be more than willing to help you even after sales. Ning doesn't compromise the service even though she's still studying.

If you're new to magic or unsure where to get great affordable stuff then get from TLMS. You sure won't regret it.

jemarcus - June 18, 2006 03:36 AM (GMT)
You need a magic product, but lack the cash to buy it.
You want to buy so many things, but have no idea what to buy.
You lack the knowledge in what you're buying, and know that when you receive it, it will become a collector's item.

The Little Magic Shop - by the woman herself , Ning.

I got my first card guard from Ning, few months back. Lacking the cash, she quoted me a price lower than the marketed price on murphy's catalogue.
A saving grace, she saved me from burning a hole in my pocket.
(However, I lost my card guard not too long later :( )

She gives that extra smile with each product you buy. If it doesn't brighten up your day, I don't know what will.
It's a special service that anyone may have, but yields different responses.

She gives expert opinions on what I can do with my product, and recommends me products that I could consider on my next purchase. She knows your needs and tries to overcome them.

That is what the Little Magic Shop means to me, a shop, a person, fused together to provide what you see today.

If you're wavering on a product to buy or dealer to buy from, don't hesitate. Talk to Ning today.

Met Ning yesterday to collect my orders ...

This was my first experience with the Little Magic Shop, but it won't be the last. As soon as I placed my order, I could tell that Ning knows how to run a business !

Three cheers to the Little Magic Shop for being everything a magic shop should be!

Reasonable prices, great selection, and GREAT service from a CHARMING lady :)

With so many choices nowadays as to magic vendors, it's nice to discover Ning in Singapore !

muscleaxl - July 5, 2006 06:23 AM (GMT)
Didn't know Ning's "shop" is called The Little Magic Shop.

Anyway, it was my first time buying from her and didn't get that many things too, only 2 half-dollars and English pennies. But as far as price is concerned, it's very reasonable. Much more reasonable than the other local shops.

Of course, her friendliness helps!

Maybe I could give a better review the next time I make a bigger purchases!

<Aaron> - August 5, 2006 07:58 AM (GMT)
okie, hmmm, did 2 transactions with ning to date. And what can one ask for more? i remember the first time i met up with her, i called and i expected a dull voice or perhaps a normal tone. However, ning was pratically bursting with eagerness from her voice. "Hello!" i was kinda surprised! haha never thought that anyone could have so much energy on a dull afternoon. :P

oh and she has 2 warm and fuzzy eyes that will make you melt. haha you probably tell yourself," okay, i am not going to order anything else for this month." Until her doe eyes just melts your resolve and you end up with lots of stuff.

So if you need anything, just get from her!

The way you guys describe Ning.... Aloy would be getting worried.

NOT SCARED of getting banned by him huh? Haha. Kidding

Challenge - August 18, 2006 05:19 AM (GMT)
I've bought from TLMS a few times, although the stuff I bought was second-hand stuff (that she bought then found out it wasn't suitable for her, so put up for re-sale).

Service-wise: Ning is professional, responsible and pleasant to deal with. The transactions are smooth and the second-hand items are in the condition she described (usually very good condition as she only test-drived them once or twice).

The meetup location is usually Little India MRT, which is central and convenient.

And of course no shipping costs, that's another plus. Compared to ordering online (usually from USA or UK), those folks always seem to think Singapore is somewhere on the moon so they usually overcharge on shipping (especially if you're just ordering a bunch of lightweight DVDs and they tell you to add 20% of the cost of goods for shipping  )

So yeah, TLMS is a great local dealer to get your magic stuff from :)

PS. One thing to be careful though - after you buy a few times from her, she'll hound you to write a dealer review! Kidding yo, she asked nicely ;)

cioxxx - August 18, 2006 02:39 PM (GMT)
Oh man then I better get down to writing a review for her right now. Heh.

Well, I've only dealt with Ning twice and both times have been pleasant and smooth. She's really friendly and it's really hard to turn down that smile whenever she asks if I needed anything else. But I still did though!

Of course, the items I've gotten from her so far have been top notch. I'm really happy with them. And that's a very, very important thing no?

If you're ever going to have a transaction with her, you can be rest assured that she will give you nothing but quality in quantity. Large amounts of it. :)

Ning - August 20, 2006 02:45 PM (GMT)
Yeah, right... a magician's force was used right? No arm twisting at all lah! Or even psychic mind control... you do realise i'm not REAL like Jean Grey right? LOL  Anyways, thanks for the reviews guys, much appreciated! *grin* Just met up with a few magicians from SMC yesterday... it means alot to me, that I'm able to put a face to your name ^_^

Do look out for the August sales currently happening till next Mon, midnight :) As always, one lucky winner gets $10 worth of store credit from TLMS each month. Some of you may know that we recently did a cute essay writing contest about magic performed at various venues (clubs, bars, etc.) and AhliShufi was the winner of the prize, a book written by Jim Rosenbaum called California Bar Tricks. I'll be doing more of that pretty soon, to liven up SMC! Look out for it!!!

Cheerios!
ning ^_^

After a handful of purchases from TLMS. I think its high time I give our Magic Babe a.k.a Ning a good review ^_^ .

First off, Ning is absolutely passionate about what she does for TLMS. This is very important. Its really the passion for what we love that drives one to do what we want to do and with such passion, work does not seem like a routine task anymore but a pacel of life that is close to one's heart. We are all very passionate about this art and Ning was able to provide with the tools of this trade to make things easy for us. Kudos to u Ning ^_^

She's very knowledgeable and extremely friendly. Ask her anything about magic product she probably can give you an answer, and enthusiastically as well. I'll also have to mention that she was very helpful in my enquires of my products that I've purchased. Once the stuff arrives, she'll inform everyone immediately and bring all the stuff down, mind you I'm sure at time must be heavy for her as there are times we buy thick books. Its not easy for a petite girl like her to carry so much hehe... I like to say Ning promised, Ning delivered. :D

Ning never fails to put a smile on her face even at times when she's tired. Yesteday I collected my stuff from her and I can see that she was tired from her work. She was so sweet that she msg to apologies for not being able to chat longer. No worries Ning, work is important. I would'nt want ur boss to complain hehe...

All in all I have to say that SMC is very lucky to have Ning as our efficient and responsibile dealer. She's always willing to help and provide us with all the magic we need. Such commitment and personal service can be seen as magic in one's heart. Keep up the gd work Ning... You're fabulous ^_^

yong_tianadeline - November 3, 2006 07:59 AM (GMT)
Hey, KiraX. :)
TLMS is not a physical shop. It does not have real shop space.
You can check out the website: www.thelittlemagicshop.com or see Ning jie's userbar/signature.

Feel that I am so old after seeing so many call Ning as Jie... when I have to call her Xiao Mei :(

Ok... just a very short review here.

Ning is definitely passionate in what she does.... see the effort she has put in for the recent opening of her TLMS website. If you still have not surfed her TLMS website, you are missing out something...... www.thelittlemagicshop.com

Ning is really helpful in your need. Feel free to approach her and you should be able to get advises from her.... no obligation at all... :D

Ning is..... (all those praises go into here :D there are so many and I shall not repeat :D.....oops, am I too lazy :P )

Ning, keep it up.... :)

Cheers!

Though I have only bought stuff from her once, she gave a a very good impression! Actually maybe the government can make her the poster girl for GEMS. Great service coupled with short delivery times (a few days only after the final date for orders) makes the little magic shop one of the best dealers around...

Plus with the new TMLS website, it allows us even easier way to place our orders and also more control over what to order. With contests, it makes our shopping experience much better!

With that being said, i guess anything else would be just repeating what the rest are saying. Anyways, cheers for doing such a good job!

Ning - November 18, 2006 01:13 PM (GMT)
LOL... thank you, haha, yeah maybe someone can nomiate TLMS for GEMS next year *grin* The TLMS treasure hunt is now at its last stage so I'd like to thank everyone again for making it a success. It was such a major online event and I got so many positive feedback! :g: I hope you all have fun and congrats to all winners!

Please continue to support The Little Magic Shop and we hope to bring you more interesting competitions and activities soon! ^_^

Hi everyone,

I am new to SMC (just registered today), after reading everyone's comment, I do agreed with everyone.

I am into magic for more than 20 years (since secondary school time, old man already haha...), that time wasn't many magic shop around (only 3 if I can remember). So most of the time I ordered from U.S. (Hank Lee Magic Shop). Yes, it will takes more than 3 weeks to arrive and ever got a prop which the glass was broken. Too bad, no way that I can meet up with the supplier for exchange. Recently, while was searching around on Yahoo on magic in Singapore and I noticed The Little Magic Shop. Just out of curiosity, I placed order for a "Airborne with the greatest ease" plus some other items. After going through the web ordering process and noticed that I have to do money transfer to the bank account. Problem because I am too used to pay by credit card and my bank account was not ready to do money transfer. I just put a note stating that I will pay by cash upon receiving the items (actually, I don't really trust internet shopping unless I know that it's reliable). Ning called me and agreed on my request. Great, I got the items and of course, COD. After meeting her, my feedback to her was why didn't she accept credit card, and you know, after 1 week, I saw that The Little Magic Shop accept credit card. Wow... i really hope that that was because of me..

Her service is great, always smiling and frendly. I fully agreed that her published price is cheaper. I am really glad that Singapore has such a well setup magic supplier.

Well, from today onwards, I am ordering from The Little Magic Shop unless that item that I really want (cannot wait) is not carried by TLMS.

Well done Ning :)
