hi.... i'am hong... a rookie in this line..... can anyone teach me some tricks

Learn like how we guys started. Start from a library, go to a magic shop. Read books. Magicians are a special breed, not many are willing to teach. Nothing is free in this world.

But if you're a pretty girl.. then there are some here who would help you for free :rolleyes: Otherwise.. you gotta fork up a bit of cash getting ur magic supplies.

Also.. learn how to post replies in this thread and not create new threads for every reply. Mod nightmare ;)

Well, i believe phoenixsam is the Sam you are looking for ? he's a magician too, you might want to discuss with him on some materials and etc.

My first magic book was Mark Wilson's "Cyclopedia of magic", but I'd reckon you buy his Complete book of magic. You can get it from Borders, if they don't have it, get them to order it, its about S$30. Very good book I'd say.

As for buying effects, you can try online shops such as
Hocus Pocus
elmagicshop

Do a research first before buying, it'll save you a lot of space for your drawer.

Ambitious Card Routine is a nice and good 1 for all Card Worker.
Try getting some self working or maths effect ^_^

Hmm...

Effect: A Card is Selected and place into the middle of the pack, cast a dark shadow over the deck, the card jumps to the top. Card is place into the centre again, with another snap of the fingers. The card jumps to the top again, and so on and on till it jump to the mouth -_-. Any variations you like, i think you should do some Self working / Maths Effect, it would be much more simple for a beginner.

cool......... i know that trick... but the selected card always went to the below deck instead of top of the deck... hmmm... maybe i'am a slow learner....this trick was teach by phoneixsam...he also say i'am slow... haha...

lol ok ~ but i still suggest you stick to self working effect, i use to have alot. But ever since i started practicing sleights of hand, i forgot 95% of them.

Yeah i guess every magician has to go through a lot. Im sure lots of us has to gone through lots of books and vids to help us to learn the art. Magic is not an easy thing to do.. u need showmanship, u need acting, u need misdirection, u need comedy, u need ur own style. start with cards.... hehe lol.... u might just end up concentrating with cards... like me lol.. cards z best man.. :P. Do be prepared to fork out some cash to learn some good magic. if u are serious in learning u will search hi and low for materials. Go to a magic shop and see wat they have there... and the magician there should be able to recommend u some good vids. Ellusionist vids are great... go check them out.
