Title: Dl To Sl
Description: Name of the Move?

muscleaxl - June 8, 2006 02:42 AM (GMT)
Anybody know this move: YOu apparently messed up your DL and the spectator saw it, but with a sweep at the card, you showed that you are only holding one.

I apologize if I can't describe more clearly.

it's called KM move.. Haha... don't use that to save your DL.. Perfect your DL instead

Of course, I am not hoping to use it. Just a contingency plan.

Wonder what does KM stands for?

It stands for Kardyo-Marlo.

It was a co-development between 2 guys, Tony Kardyo and Ed Marlo.

That's all I know about that!

Very very useful move though!

It's applications span more than just a contingency plan for a failed DL my friend!

Take care,

Logan

Where can you learn it?

bigbadwolf - July 25, 2006 11:16 PM (GMT)
Its on the new Army of 52 DVD, or you can pick up Daryl's Sleights Vol 5 or Oz Pearlman's Watch Magic

All 3 contains teaching of the KM Move. ^_^

Card College Vol. 3 covers it quite well I heard.

muscleaxl - July 26, 2006 03:46 AM (GMT)
So what are the other applications?

So what are the other applications?

Well, basically it serves to covertly turn cards over, on the top part of the deck, which makes it a useful tool.

Because it functions as that, you can, via a DL, show a card's back to be normal and then after doing the KM move, give the card out without them ever seeing the back, maybe you've got a hidden message there, or it could be a different colour.

Of course, it is commonly used to clean up after a DL.

That's all I can think of right now.

Actually I think the move is called the Reverse KM move.

Anyway there are 2 applications I can think of right now.

1) clean up a DL

2) use it as a colour change. (Michael Ammar)

Turn the deck face up, do a DL, do the Reverse KM move and tada!

Another application (One which I use very often) is to conceal the colour of the back. That is if you are a fan of colour changing deck effects.

Both the KM and the Reverse KM reduces a DL to a SL.

The only difference is that the KM retains the card whose face is shown (and hence you can "change" its back), while the Reverse KM retains the card whose back is shown (and hence you can "change" its face).
