There's definitely certain angles you have to be aware of. And besides, i think G Wilson has a routine similar to certain part of Ring Thing.

its not a buy and can do straight away trick, if you do.. you will expose. its fairly easy. abit of angle to take care off but it should not be a problem. oh and the most impt thing is do it fast. This will stun layman =)

A lot of speed and coordination involved. Definitely need practice and new rings. Haha.. I bought a ring before receiving the DVD and ended up only being able to do a few moves from the DVD. You need larger rings

ring thing is a really good effect but it's not easy to pull it off. Garrett thomas does it really really well. and comparing to greg wilson, i think greg wilson's routine quite suck.

I won't say speed is very important for this one but you sure will need abit of it. Main thing is everything you do has got to look clear. Gotta pause for a while to let each segment of the effect be registered in the spectator's head before u proceed with the next move. If you do everything without any sense of timing, then it would be terrible wouldn't it?

anyway, you really got to practice this one and if you are able to pull it off, you are sure to feel a sense of achievement like none ever felt before. Good luck!

LOL... while the general review for Ring Thing is positive, i honestly won't go on to say Greg Wilson's original routine sucks. My buddy, drygin of SMC, earned himself a free drink at a club very recently from a complete stranger mesmerised by his greg wilson finger ring routine  Learn an effect and make it yours!

but really... garrett thomas's handling and everything is freaking sleek!!! compared to greg wilson, he is not as good, really.

I believe this effect is a classic impromptu trick.
Is there anything different with Garrett Thomas' version? or is it just tips & advices on the trick itself by him plus his own handling of it??

I think it's way too hard to perfect this ring thingy, to make it look natural.. Fingers got to be to tahan fierce training~

GT devoted the entire DVD on it while GW just had a small bit in one of his vids, so his is very simple compared to GT's entire kungfu routine

You can view the teaser of GT's 57min DVD, The Ning thing... i mean... The Ring Thing, over here ;)

PS: E sells this but it's really not their production... this comes from L&L, just thought i'd point out in case some people didn't already know. Cheers!

Hey everyone, I bought ring thing, and was vey pleased. Garrett goes in depth with his teaching and the quality of the DVD was great. Some movements and sleights are hard to master, but with some practice you'll get them. Heres the full review.

Effects - The effects taught in this DVD are amazing. Some are harder than the others, but all brilliant and easy to understand. He teaches everything you need to know to perform the tricks.

Angles - You need put some time into practice to master your angles. Hard to perform it surounded..Wee!! :D

Difficulty - Its great for beginners and theres plenty of tricks for advanced magicians too. The only hard part was that I couldn't find a ring to use!

Hope this helps!

would like to ask if this dvd teaches how to do the thing cyril does on a korean show. he asked the girl to hold the end of his fingers then the ring switched fingers. wonder if this trick can be learned from this dvd or just a gimmick ring.

Nope, its not included in the DVD.

The effect Cyril did is very similar to Mercuring by Jay Sankey. You can check it out.
