Hello rjay... What do you mean by "info"? If you're looking for reviews, the Reviews sub-forum would be a good place to start. If you're looking for advice on these things, you have to be more specific . Like are you asking where you can learn these? Or performance tips? Or...?

And if you aren't even sure if they're items or moves, I suggest you better read around more first before making purchases you'll come to regret. =P

Go over to the intro section and tell us more about yourself yea?

ah, thanks bro...i already posted an info bout myself......i even went to singapore to purchase the products..

thanks again....

Actually, i think you jumped the gun by buying SMS so soon.

Don't mind me saying this, but I have a feeling that you are still very VERY new to magic. Instead of buying such a specific prop like SMS, you should be getting some beginners books and DVDs or some introduction course to magic.

Really, don't buy another item till you got your basics. Or else it will just be a waste of money.

Nice to see more ppl "wanting" to know magic.

But first of all, most magic seems simple, but in actual fact, it requires alot of work, either backstage or setup, for juz a simple effect to work, take an example, flying.

So its always good to ask ppl before buying anything, or starting anything, take an example, if u are keen to know rubber band magic, talk to ppl, ask them for advises on them, which there is tons in the magic talk, and then go into the field u wan.

Not juz saw something incredile, and u buy, i can bet u that u will be very disappointed when u know the story of the effect. It takes alot of hardwork for the effect to work.

pinnacle is a great impromptu effect....
so is crazy man's handcuff.....

but though it seems simple, i believe we should give the trick the practices it deserves before performing

When you really come across these items, then you'll know what specifically to ask. No point asking it when you don't even know what the heck is it.

Because some of the things you asked is the name of a effect and some is a specific item, and one is the name of a Dvd.

Anyway, I agree with what the others said, start from basic. Don't be like one of my friend who plunged straight into SMS and other advanced DvDs. Now he's leaving his Dvds to rot and have never used his SMS.

alright thanks guys....anyways i've been into cards for about a year now...
i've pretty much done the SMS on a few work mates of mine...

alright guys, so u mean the basic....how basic is it??

what are the basic things that i need to learn??

thanks again..btw, singapore was great.

muscleaxl - June 23, 2006 02:50 AM (GMT)
Hmm.. you are not local huh?

I think why most of us here talked to you about basics is because from your post, you sounded quite "new". If you are into magic for a year, I thought you would have came across some of the terms.

inuutel - June 23, 2006 03:06 AM (GMT)

ah your wrong there my brother....i'm not local.....i'm filipino / spanish...it's about a year now since a got into magic....anyways wat kinda basic magic should a newbie learn anyway...

Master everthing in the Royal Road to card Magic. Mark Wilson's Complete course in Magic is pretty good as well.

Thats all you need to know. If you like the coin section in Mark Wilson's book, look for Bobo's Modern Coin Magic. Its more in-depth in coin work.

alright bro, thanks for the info......

i might just save some money for a beginners info on magic....

Jeff Gan - June 23, 2006 05:35 AM (GMT)

sorry to sound extremely stupid, but can someone PM me on what SMS means? or at least hint to me what it is?

Short Messaging Service?

Jeff Gan - June 23, 2006 06:59 AM (GMT)
muscleaxl,
thanks.
:P

inuutel - June 23, 2006 08:20 AM (GMT)
thansk for the advice guys....i just got the hang of sms...its al cool trick...

lots of oohhs and aahhs from the crowd...hehehe

Jeff Gan - June 23, 2006 08:41 AM (GMT)
I've always recommended Mark Wilson's Complete Course in Magic.
Don't settle for the cheaper Mark Wilson Cyclopedia of Magic which is the more concise version of the Complete Course.
