Is it just me or does Cyril's magic seems a little watered down this time round?

All previously done stuff, by himself and other camera magicians.

Where's the magical creativity and surprise that's the trademark of Cyril's camera magic?

Even the fruits one doesn't seem to make a lot of sense....to me at least. Don't quite understand where's the magic...

Sure, it's still all amazing stuff no doubt, and I have no idea how he can put his hand thru the aquarium without water gushing all over everyone. But presentationally, it's not very different from Blaine's hand thru window, or Cyril's Salt-shaker thru window, or THEM's Reno thru windown, or Angel's walk thru window...

Just slightly disappointed. :unsure:

Have you guys seen the one where he runs and jumps into an open briefcase held by his assistant and virtually disappears? They close the case and walk away... and it's the size of a normal suitcase :ph43r:

Aloy sir, you would realise his card in aquarium effect is very simlar to one of the clips he did before, where he did it on this ship with windows at the bottom to see the fishes in the sea.

He has done linking polo mints in some previous clips too.

If i am not wrong, the reason you see the same/similar effects again is because he is doing this for a different show. This show I think is really cyril's own show, whereas the old clips of him are of him doing magic for a different show.

Similar effects on different shows, and maybe different channels.

I like the fruit one, though. Very very amazing.

But I'm dumbfounded. The fruit trick reminded me of this other one I saw somewhere once. It's a colour-changing apple trick where the guy takes out a red apple, takes a bite out of it and then it turns into a green apple. Aargh, can't remember the name.

The hand through aquarium is just insane! Though that reminded me of a time years ago where I nearly came up with this illusion method to have a person walk through a tank of water and either come out the other side wet (or dry) or then climbs out of the tank of water wet (can't be dry lah in this case)... I even got an email from Chris Kenner who got interested in the idea! Ok, I just had to "hao lian" this moment at least once. Nothing came out of it anyway. -_-

The water tank and the fruits one totally blew me away. There is creativity still Aloy. The fruits one is where he spray painted the apple-halves and they turned into one an orange and the other a watermelon. That's basically the effect. It must be really heavily set-up. DAmn. I think he looks gay on though. But still one of my favourite magicians around. :rolleyes:

I think the reactions to the tricks aren't overly bad, perhaps its because its how japanese react. When i last performed for a group of japanese, thats exactly how they reacted as well. Its like a totally different culture. Singaporeans would probably just stare at u and keep quite, while Ang Mohs would probably exclaim. Therefore i kinda disagree with you about them overreacting.

I absolutely love this guy's magic.

Watching his videos are soooo.... *argh... they shorten my life. I get sleepless nights wondering how he does some of his stuff. And his presentation is nice too.
