Title: Balloon Swallowing

I heard that there are various ways of balloon swallowing, apart from geek magic dvd? Where can the rest be found?

I don't know what the method on Geek Magic is, but Steve Bedwell has it on his video MD Not Required. It's called Tonsil Tickler.

Balloon swallowing is a perfect illusion! Saw it live the other day.. Made me rub my eyes twice..! Haha... Very Very nice.. you guys can grab a balloon and try it during CCF... Gonna attract lots of people!

We do baloon swallowing back here in Malaysia as a comedy act. The method is blatantly simple but the effect can be played strong . Some of the Singaporean magicians who came by during the convention saw our own Robin Lim do the effect in the restaurant . His presentation was....ok , not for everybody but it played for a 10 minute routine opener .

Hmm, i'd like to learn balloon swallowing to incorporate into my first kids show routine im trying to come up with within the next month or so. Any where i could learn from? other than the tonsil tickler or something? :)

Just an advice... Please warn them not to try this during the kids show. i think you can learn it from some shops (we are not allowed to mention them).

It's a very easy thing to do and is featured in this DVD called Geek Magic by Tomas Medina but really, I honestly wont recommend you do it infront or for kids.

Can you imagine how their parents would react? They'd whisk their children away the minute you start swallowing the thing. Kids are very impressionable. The last thing you want to do is to instigate them to try this out when they're at home or something.

They may not use balloons, but may just try other objects... you know how young minds are :) So, really... bad idea. You can do this with your friends who are mature enough to know its a gag or appreciate your 'magic' but once again... a big NO-NO for kids.

And again, not for the CCF gig please!!! :ph43r:

Hmm. I duno. i instead feel that it'd be quite entertaining for kids? Just that we'd have to tell them we're trained professionals and warn them not to try it? hmm. Mixed feelings on this topic? haa.

Jus my two cents. :D

Kids wouldn't understand. Even if we warn them before hand, they'll still think that this is fun and easy to do and not all but I bet some of them will try it if they have excess to the balloons or any long objects.

I feel that if you don't know the character of the kid, don't do it.

no balloon swallowing and fire eating for kids, my 2 year boy try doing that after watching a magic do it on stage at Jurong Point last year. B)

bALLOON SWALLOWING...bring back lots of memories haha...

well i think the best way to learn is from DVDs, not magic shop or other alternatives.

As for the kid show routine...i wont recomment kennection to do a balloon swallowing, but if you wanna try...erm, you can try.

they'd be much more impressed by a magic coloring book or sponge rabbit routine. for kids, balloons are for sculpturing. :)

Haha. point taken guys. Thanks! :D but it still looks cool to me. hehe.

Not only is it 'cool'... it can be very very kinky looking ;)

Anyways, I know a lot of people here who've purchased the Geek Magic DVD which teaches razor blade eatting, balloon swallowing, etc... U can ask for reviews but it's the main source where people learn how to do the latter :ph43r: Kids, don't try this at home!

I think there's already a thread in the review section on Geek Magic. I seem to remember discussing it. It got quite good reviews if I'm not wrong.

kennection - July 13, 2006 03:31 PM (GMT)
Oh.. haha. Where is it?? i guess it depends on the person doing it? if u have a rm.. kink-driven person doing it, then well.. what could i say? hahaha. -_-
