About Shoot Ogawa
Shoot Ogawa was born and raised in Tokyo, Japan. He began magic at the age of 10. Shoot has been featured on almost and every television channel in Japan and has performed his magic for talk shows, variety shows, and children's shows. He has produced more than ten videos featuring his original magic. Shoot has also starred as a character in "Magic Master", a popular Japanese teenager comic book. Now living in the United States, Shoot speaks fluent English and he has maintained two homes - in Los Angeles near the Magic Castle and Las Vegas.
From 1993 to the present, Shoot has won first place in more than ten competitions. In 2002, he took first place in London's MacMillan International Magic Convention and amazed the magic world with his Doubled-Hand Matrix and Ninja Rings routines. In March 2003, Magic Magazine featured Shoot on the cover. In the same year, he was awarded "Magician of the Year" in the Close-up Category by the American Academy of Magical Arts. In August 2003, Shoot's biography was published in Japan.

Shoot has some great routines and does really slick sleight of hand. Go if you can. I wish I could, but I'll already be at university by that time.

LOL... breathe, Lai, breathe!!!
As mentioned by Extremer, pls liaise with him for the tickets direct.
SMC is only helping them to promote awareness for this & Jeremy Pei's other event, which is his 1st Sep stage show (on the other thread)... oh, and yeah, his linking rings teach in too (also in this forum).
We were not approached to help in any ticket sales nor offered any discounts for our members base, so there's no 'joint-partnership' thingy like the recent SAM magic show ;) So, any details, well, get it from the organisers themselves. We are only helping them out with publicity.
It's a pity all these are happening on the same weekend where I'd be outstationed for work :( Those who will be attending, have fun!!!
Ning ^_^

Hi
I need to enquire more about the Shoot Ogawa lecture.
A couple of quick questions,
1. What are the lecture notes and dvds that are going to be on sale?
2. Where do I order my tixs from?
Falcon121 - July 22, 2006 04:57 AM (GMT)
Sorry... but will he be actually teaching the linking rings or just performing?

Sorry for all the late reply. What suppose to be on sale are lecture notes and dvds from the same lecture you will be attending. It just that he will drop it in notes and DVDs form. I suppose you will forget some move during the lecture. You don't expect to absorb so much right.
As for the Ticket, all orders in SMC can go through me. You can PM me your interest with your Full Name,NRIC no. and Contact no. Pls take note all orders should reach me by 15Aug if you want the early bird ticket of $35/-
It worth the money to attend this. It cost a lot to have Shoot conduct this lecture so make full use of the opportunity. He is specially brought over to give the lecture.
For more info about Shoot, you can refer to his bio data in his website.

extremer - August 31, 2006 06:01 PM (GMT)
Hope you guys enjoy his great lecture.
Winder - September 1, 2006 12:50 AM (GMT)
Something which i regret, is that i should have got his Gold Ninja rings and asked for his signature on the box itself.
But overall, his stuff are very good.
Shoto ogawa rox !
Lefty - September 1, 2006 01:05 AM (GMT)
Haha, didnt manage to see you there, cadury, the lecture was super fun, Shoot is a funny guy, good content, make me spend
$200 at the dealers booth.
I bought the 3 DVD set
2 sets of thimbles
2 expensive deck with his signature
and the thimble DVD,
Crazy man. :D
Cadbury - September 1, 2006 03:09 AM (GMT)
I got his Buster 3 DVD set, Thimble DVD, 1 set of flourescent thimble and 2 decks... all signatured including the DVD itself, minus 1 thimble set from Lefty hehe.
I went thru the Jap dvd and found that u can still learn even though its in another language. Quite ok, just like XB, learn from actions.
I'm going to get some more thimbles from Murphys. I wonder if the wooden thimble set is good or the silver vernet ones... cant decide >.<
Lamadude - September 1, 2006 05:55 AM (GMT)
I didn't let him sign the box because I didn't think i will keep the box. haha. But i let his master sign the lecture notes instead. I think it is better!
Adrian
Cadbury - September 1, 2006 03:12 PM (GMT)
Argghhh i just spoke to a magician friend of mine... and he asked me, "Did you take a photo with Shoot?"
I'm stunned...
I TOTALLY FORGOT!!!
i_neveregret - September 3, 2006 12:29 PM (GMT)
I'm back in KL, finally
Shoot is the BEST close-up sleight of hand artist ever born. His ability to set up rapport with the audience was GREAT, even when he is on stage. His sleights are flawless, his choreography and misdirection is PERFECT, his showmenship and presentation is GODLIKE
It was such a wonderfully experience and pleasure of mine to meet Shoot Ogawa and his mentor Mr. Yanagida. Thanks Jeremy ;)
Cadbury - September 12, 2006 12:59 PM (GMT)

vennomz - September 12, 2006 02:24 PM (GMT)
