Is Scotch and Soda worth it?
It was said to be an under-rated effect. But other then the one I was taught by Penguin Magic, is there any other materials that has effects mainly for the Scotch and Soda?

Scotch and Soda is a very good set of coins. This is the best selling coin effect in the worild. Besides the usual routine, you can find other interesting ideas in the Scotch and Soda booklet (which is very cheap) or DVD.
I recommend the booklet.

This is a probably the first set of coins I got when I started out in magic, and till date its still the most commonly used prop whenever I want to do some sleight-less coin magic. :P

Even the basic effect taught with the product is way good enough for you to consider purchasing it.
The simplicity of the idea means that you can easily think up ideas for it.
-change (which is the one taught)
-transposition
-penetration
-vanish (not really advisable, i think)
-etc
Let those creative juices flow...

Heres my routine, hope it helps..
ASk the spectator to take the two coins, explaining to them that one is slightly bigger, ask him to hold a coin on each hand without peeping, ask where is the mexican, the smaller one, later when he open his hand, only left with a half dollar and another different coin, mexican coin appear somewhere special. :D
