Title: Akira Fujii
Description: Japanese Magician

jeromefang - July 27, 2006 06:11 PM (GMT)
Hi Everyone,

I happen to watch these 2 videos on Youtube by this Japanese Magician known as Akira Fujii. This is the first time I've heard of him. Apparently he's rather popular. Any of you guys heard of him before? Check out his 2 video clips below. I have to say that his sleights are really good. Part 2 shows his ACR and his sleights are :ph43r: ninja fast hehe... :P

I love his gaff deck in part 1 where the angels locate the specator's card. Very visual even though we all know the mechanics behind it. Wonder if Bicycle can make its own version out like that. I would love to get my hands on one. ^_^

I've yet to watch the clip but it sure sounds like he's using the Tenyo gaff deck where animated faeries on the card backs fly out and get the selected card when the magician riffles through them :)

There are Cardtoon 1 & 2 out on bicycle stock, similiar concept as the original above. There's a Fartoon version even, but I don't think you'd want to use that  But yeah... the tenyo one with the fairies is nice huh ^_^

It'd make a nice present. Hint. Hint.

lolz...thanks for sharing the videos.

I somehow realised that Japanese makes very good audiences. Don't you guys think so? That Jap gal was "WaHAha...." through out the whole performance.

I was pretty entertained by her laughter.

Wahaha!

This guy has good stuff. He can muscle pass 2 coins at one time.

The deck with the angel locating the card is Tenyo's.

Heya...

Just a little correction to Ning's Post.

Cardtoon 1 & 2 are not printed on Bicycle. They are printed on CartaMundi card.

The similar effect that is printed on Bicycle is called Tonny Angel.

Yep, the original batch of Cardtoon 1 & 2 were printed on Carta Mundi stock but there was a later stock of Cardtoon 2 available on Bicycle stock :) I wasn't refering to Michael Maxwell's Toony Angel.

This version of Cardtoon 2 on Bikes was sold at a local magic shop some time back, not sure if they are still available tho ;) ...well hey, perhaps, they may not be 'original' but one thing's for sure, they had the very same animations of Dan Harlan's Cardtoon 2 on them!

The Cardtoon 2 deck I personally own is the old one printed on Carta Mundi stock tho. Still, thanks for pointing this out.

He's handling of the bent card is really good. Good magician's fooler. I personally liked the panda bear one. He did it really naturally and faast! Damn.

Thanks Ning and Magicdow for pointing out that its the Tenyo deck.

The Tenyo deck really is interesting. I just saw a demo of the Cardtoons on youtube. I can see the stickman reach into his hat and reval the spec's card. Note bad, I have to say but the Tenyo looks much nicer. With the fairies flying up and locating the cards, it makes it look more fascinating. If you watch the clip, the japanese host in white after seeing the card said "What Just Happened" haha...

Woohoo!

I think what makes the video so interesting to me is having Ai on the show!
She's so cute
Her laughs are even cuter!

Ok, back to reality...
I don't know who this Akira dude is but he's good!

I agree. His presentation is rather funny. Or rather, it's like another kind of humourous effect that's not just the usual funny. I guess it's his style that makes it quite entertaining. Especially that "lie-detector" part. :P
