My heart skipped a beat when I saw your name but realised you couldn't be the Jonthan (Leong) I was hoping for... Sorry, SG Idol bug has kinda bit me.
Rainmaker is a good concept, nicely built, comes with a pretty detailed manuscript and yes- both your hands are free (well, nothing fishy cos they're out in the open and holding the magic pebble) when you self-activate it to rain down on people.
It's a neat idea but not very workable for me (I wanted so much to use it during the recent CCF events but just couldn't) because of my built and maybe, gender... you'll need a jacket to use this effectively and got to find which 'load' fits you best. Do note that I personally find it a tad bulky, but then, I'm less than 45kg so, if you're tall and broad shoulder, you most likely won't have any problems concealing the device.
Oh, there's no worries about nosie issues if you're wondering. The set generates a low hum but it's not detectable when you take it out to the streets... that's, if you do ;)
Let me know if there's any specific questions you're looking for. As long as it doesn't border on exposure, I'd be more than happy to help you!!!

I'll come back with a fuller review when time allows... meanwhile, for those of you who aren't sure what Rainmaker is about, here's a couple of useful links and videos.

The video can be watched

I don't mean to be mean but after hearing from friends as well as reading up on Rainmaker from themagiccafe, I'd rather you use the money to buy a supersoaker...

Rainmaker is a well made prop. Like the ad says, it's a one man show.
There are many ways to setup the unit. I am sure most of you will find the sweet spot to hookup the system. The initial setup might be a tad cumbersome cos different ppl are of different builds. Once you find what suits you best, setup's a breeze.
The noise is pretty neligible when performing outside. The built in misdirection of the routine further takes away the tell-tale signs. This effect is very much different from the normal genre of magic. It is mystical and fun to perform.
Once hooked up, you're ready to perform this the entire day. There is no get ready and no clean up. The patter provided in the instructions booklet is very interesting and allows for lots of story telling. The Rainmaker is very easy to use and allows you to concentrate on presentation.
For those who have problems with the hookup can always feel free to PM me and I will try my best to help.

Not at all actually... ;) You're not mean at all! Like I said... Rainmaker is a great idea, but it's not exactly very cheap and though it's made of pretty decent materials, it may not be for everyone. It's not for me to say but my honest thoughts are most users here will be detered by the size of the gadget and the practicality of the unit.
I believe that whatever you buy should suit your performance style... will you really use it? If you don't uilise it to full potential, you'd be letting the creator down as well, cos his invention would be collecting dust at one corner of your room after you 'test' it out
But hey... if you think this is for you, then by all means, get it. You'll have to experiment with the hookup (it'd take awhile to find what works for you, trust me) as I mentioned, though Peter Loughran did a commendable job trying to cram as much info and suggestions in the booklet as much as possible.
I think Mr. Loughran is a very creative guy, whoever thought of such a wicked device to create rain? ^_^ And yeah, you can control how much rain falls... there's no use of chemicals too, if anyone's`wondering.
Hope this helps ;)

Roughly how big and thick is the device? Is it really obvious using it without a jacket? No way or hiding it in a modified pocket or something? Does it make any noise when used?
