Title: L & L's Audience
Description: are they real?

Magicdow - August 4, 2006 06:45 AM (GMT)
Logan made a post on the sponge ball thread which prompted me to start this topic.

As mentioned, many people think John (the blond guy with the mustache) is always exaggerating his reactions.

I personally agree that he sometimes overdo it. Its true that some people will have this kind of reaction but for a guy like him which is on almost all the L & L videos, how can one always act the same way? I think they are probably paid to have this kind of reaction and that's why they always get the front seats.

Ever notice that those that have smaller reactions tends to have the back seats?

But my favourite spectator in L & L's video got to be David (African American with curly hair). I love his actions.

My fav is the blond girl with big boobs.... :g:

They are probably all paid audience (with maybe a few volunteers), but i believe they have been told to really ham it up for the camera when shooting. Those that are "extra kua zhang" are put in the front row I think.

Never really thought that the audiences were stooges. How do you know their names?

There are several long threads discussing this audience on themagiccafe.com. Most people agree that John is particularly annoying and many also share Aloy's preferences.

Personally, I would prefer to see the effects performed for real people rather than audiences who have been present for every L&L production made in the past 8 years.

You will know them too once you have watched a few L&L videos.
You can even see some of them go through hairstyle and fashion trends changes in some of the older videos. It's quite hilarious... :D

John is like high on drugs or something. Irritating as hell...
David actually strikes me as sometimes a little... below average IQ. :P

I wouldn't mind being an L&L audience member actually. Just imagine who you might get to rub shoulders with. Woo...

John is a Joke <_< Yeah, after watching the DVDs their names will catch on. I remember the first time I learn John's (J is for Joker) name was when Osterlind said it... his manner was a bit clipped (maybe Osterlind was feeling rather  or  or  and very possibly <_< ) when John was TOTALLY over-reacting at something he did... and the kicker didn't EVEN happen yet

They MUST be all paid actors lah. Especially the blondie. Maybe she decided to sign on to L&L aftr not making it into Baywatch 8 years ago :g: ...Bad acting and all...

Of course they are paid, contrary to popular belief, sitting down watching card trick after card trick has its toll.

Regarding John, believe it or not, I think John is genuine.

Some people are just programmed to be easily amazed. I'm quite sure you could do the old 'detachable thumb' trick to John and he'll sh*t himself right there and then.

I know a few people who are amazed even when I goof up during a performance.

As I said, some people are just programmed like that.

With regards to the ladies, there are 2 I kinda like. One would be Dusty and the other would be that girl, very much involved in the Osterlind set, with black hair and glasses, her name escapes me, but it starts with a C.

DJ, the black dude, is also cool. I love his shocked silence reaction, where his mouth just hangs open.

Actually, L&L has this big stinky cage backstage, and after every DvD recording, they throw all these retards back into the cage. Of cos they have to be fed daily with steriods and injected with drugs to keep them at the mentality of a average 3 year old and, oh so very high.

Of cos regular viewers (like myself) of their videos will be very much irritated by the hysterical laughter and stupidity of John, David and the likes, but imagine the feeling of a new viewer/buyer of the L&L productions?
Entertained? Yes.
Awed by reaction of the effects THEY will soon learn? Yippie yippe yea~

This discussion got me wondering about what happens when an audience member steals your thunder.

Case in point:

I remembered John from just watching a demo trailer of Osterlind's DVD. All I remember is him almost leaping out of his chair going, "No you didn't! No you didn't! YOU DID!" and then laughing, clapping hysterically like he won the El Gordo lottery (FYI, money for this is usually about US$1.7 billion. Yup, Billion...).

As for what effect it was, I can't remember.
What was he reacting to? I can't remember.
Am I 100% sure it's from an Osterlind DVD? No, not really.
But do I remember his face, his hair, his moustace, his name? You bet.

It can be a good thing or a bad thing when you have someone on triple dose Ecstasy as an audience member I guess.

HarapanOng - August 6, 2006 07:39 AM (GMT)
Haha, yeah, I remember John definitely. The crazy shouting and raving guy.

But honestly, it is quite obvious they are paid actors and somehow stooged audience. Not that it is a bad thing, because I would rather watch a screaming audience than a quiet audience who just claps.

By the way, anybody knows the name of the "blonde with big boobs",as Aloy puts it?

Alexander - August 6, 2006 07:49 AM (GMT)
Cassandra?

Ning - August 6, 2006 07:54 AM (GMT)
Exactly Maddened, exactly my point!!! It's a very good example of how John robbed Osterlind blind. I don't even remember the effect, just his icky dramatic reaction

binaryzero_1 - August 6, 2006 11:48 AM (GMT)
So they are all paid audience? no wonder all are the same one, especially the front row,.. :D :D
