Title: Pay Envelops

Alexander - August 9, 2006 12:02 PM (GMT)
Anyone knows where to get those pay envelops ( the kind that opens up on the short side) used in most mentalism videos? (eg, Bank Night, Osterlinds)

Thanks alot.

Sorry but I never see the videos before, but you can get them(that opens at the side) widely at book stores/shops

Alexander - August 9, 2006 12:53 PM (GMT)
Searched alot of them, those are the kinda that opens up at the long side.

joeltay81 - August 9, 2006 01:14 PM (GMT)
been looking for those in australia and they don't have it too. Might have to import it if you cannot find

LarryDK - August 9, 2006 02:20 PM (GMT)
No dun need to, ah, alternatively, you can ask Pam about it. He got lots of it.

Another place is at kino, i got mine white envelops at kino, you have to do a search, its packed in 10s. So should be able to notice it. :)

Alexander - August 9, 2006 02:38 PM (GMT)
Kino sells them? But those are the long kinda envelops right? As in there arent really the smaller kind seen on those videos.

Jeff Gan - August 9, 2006 05:12 PM (GMT)
My friend and I had custom made a a couple of thousands by an envelope maker. I guess they'll last me a while.

Alternatively, you could use ang pows (hong baos to you).
I've seen the plain pink ones being sold in chinese bookshops in KL, not sure about S'pore.

Good luck finding em.

joeltay81 - August 9, 2006 05:17 PM (GMT)
Ang Pows! Now! Why didn't I think of that. I think I'll use that for now. Too bad CNY is still far, or we can collect free ones from the banks.

LarryDK - August 9, 2006 05:45 PM (GMT)
Ya, i got a few from there, got those small one, small and nice to put in pocket and such. I tried before.

As for the excat location, hmm quite hard. Because i got it long time ago. :) But its a white envelope with flower pattern in the inside.

Alexander - August 10, 2006 01:20 AM (GMT)
Thanks for the input, I thought about using Ang Pows, but it doesnt look professional.

Try searching for "coin envelopes." They are available at most stationery stores in the USA under that name.

joeltay81 - August 10, 2006 02:37 AM (GMT)
Managed to find the last pack of envelope at my uni's bookstore. First time i've seen it in Australia.
:P
Am I fortunate or what? Answered prayer! :off:

Maddened - August 10, 2006 02:54 AM (GMT)
I've been looking for those too. Manila style, not white for certain obvious reasons.

Actually if there's a lot of people who want them, maybe we can all get together, go Bras Basah and get a shop to make them in bulk for us? Will last a life-time then... :P

LarryDK - August 10, 2006 05:08 AM (GMT)
Good solution. Ya i understand that white is not a good color sometime. If anyone of us going to do that, please make a topic or PM me, i wan to make a few also.

theWeaver - August 10, 2006 06:28 AM (GMT)
Yea, i want some envelops too.. I need some help "modifyin" them too.. I suck at handicraft.. =o

Maddened - August 10, 2006 10:35 AM (GMT)
Hmm... So how about it? Do we want to gather people who want the envelopes and try and get a cheap bulk price?

Just know that if we're really going to get them to make for us, it'll be in the range of like minimum 500.

So who's interested?

1) Alexander
2) theWeaver
3) LarryDK
4) Maddened

I suppose any one of us can go recce at Bras Basah for prices and stuff. Or if anyone knows of a place where we can get custom envelopes made cheaply, that'll be great too.

joeltay81 - August 10, 2006 12:51 PM (GMT)
If you are going to custom make those envelopes, won't it be cheaper to import it?

ming - August 10, 2006 01:13 PM (GMT)
I doubt you'll get a "cheap bulk price" if the order is anywhere near the minimum required.

LarryDK - August 10, 2006 04:43 PM (GMT)
It will be cheaper to make in singapore in bulk, consider you can also sell in this forums, alot of people need it. Here, we can easily name 20 people that needs this kind of envelopes.

Anway, if you consider the weight of paper, its not worth it to pay the extra to cover the weight.

theWeaver - August 10, 2006 05:55 PM (GMT)
Bulk make the envelops? Normal one or "modified" ones?
I'm onz for sure.

jeromefang - August 18, 2006 06:49 AM (GMT)
Hi Guys,

Understand you guys are looking for White Envelopes that open at the short end. I'm not sure what is the size that you're looking for as I've not seen the videos you all mentioned. But if the size is the same as the regular phone bill envelopes that we receive, I just saw at NTUC Bukit Merah selling them.

Its full plain white front and back and opens at the short end. It comes in a packet of 25 envelopes and its only $1.16 per pack. I think the other NTUC should sell as well. Check out the Stationary section of your nearest NTUC. Hope this helps ^_^

I bought a stack of those Manilla pay envelopes in a stationary shop in .......( im not kidding... Manilla ) And they came in differnt colors too. I bought some white ones , brown ones and black ones. Its great for Fourth Dimensional Telapathy.

I supposed you could learn to make it yourself. a bit of glue, a scissors . brown or black paper and lots of time on your hands !
