Title: Amazing Trick Seen Today.

Freeze - August 14, 2006 12:39 PM (GMT)
Ok god i just saw something totally amazing today. I was at the middle front of the bus today and along came two guys who boarded the bus and was sitting in front. One of the guy took out a Bike deck and of course it caught my attention. Watching through his actions all the way, the magic moment came. I heard something like " Do you believe i can shoot all the cards out of the bus and i can take it back one by one." His friend was like: "Siao ar"

So what i saw, wow i couldn't believe what i've seen. He literally held it in a dribble action and shot it out of the window! ( Forgot to mention it was a non-aircon bus, 325 ) After which, he showed two hands empty, and took it back one by one from the air. It was unbelievable, seriously. Of course many people was like looking at him.

You guys must be thinking that he had an extra deck or something but no, some uncle sitting beside him asked whether he had an extra deck and he said no. He proceeded with the trick twice! Although yes, the bus driver scolded him for being reckless as throwing out the cards like this may cause an accident, speaking of which, the only loophole i could find is there wasn't any cars horning when it was done. But still, i saw the whole cards out of the window as did everybody.

So does anybody know the name of this trick? Or how is it done? Or even better, is he from SMC? If you are, please please acknowledge yourself. Thank you for reading.

bigbadwolf - August 14, 2006 01:01 PM (GMT)
Are the two guys, Criss Angel and Johnny Thompson?

Sound like a good trick. Did you manage to get hold of his contact?

Freeze - August 14, 2006 02:34 PM (GMT)
Yea.. Sadly, no. Or else i wouldn't be asking whether he's from SMC. Haha

Lol, and if i did saw Criss angel on 325 today, That be even better than the trick. Lol..

Droicut - August 14, 2006 03:18 PM (GMT)
Wow... sounds like a damn good effect. Too bad you didn't get his contact. :(

Paradoxt - August 14, 2006 04:22 PM (GMT)
Was the bus moving? you mean the cards were floating outside the window?! Cool! :!!:

Yes it was moving, normal speed. Not floating but just like how cards look like when shot out of the window. Cards flying everywhere and everything.

cioxxx - August 14, 2006 05:57 PM (GMT)
I wish I was there. Public transport's getting expensive, I wouldn't mind a little entertainment. :D

joeltay81 - August 15, 2006 01:05 AM (GMT)
Sounds like a very rich guy to me. Throwing a few deck of cards out of the window like that. Perhaps followed by a simple sleight of hand to reveal hidden cards. But I like that idea. How would you do it if you were him? Any creative ideas?

What about getting the spectator to sign one of the cards, palm it away and throw the rest out of the window. Then produce the cards again... and finally, revealing the signed card at the end.

That would have a greater effect and probably not too difficult to perform too - especially since he can 'pop cards out of the air".

Or when everyone's attention is on the cards flying out, (they will probably continue looking even after it lands on the road), secretly reach over and stick a card to the back of his shirt, under his seat, or even on the ceiling. (bus ceiling is low), then after that, make the another deck appear in your hands before showing that the signed card is missing. Look up at the ceiling and then watch their reactions.

bigbadwolf - August 15, 2006 05:53 AM (GMT)
lol joeltay81's imagination is running wild.

think too much liao.

Darry - August 15, 2006 08:14 AM (GMT)
 sure you not making this up? traffic musnt have been heavy, if not you would see fingers popping out of cars. <_<

Falcon121 - August 15, 2006 08:48 AM (GMT)
Cna any one say b*** P***

Kazekage - August 15, 2006 10:07 AM (GMT)
Yeah, it could be just a simple card production by b*** p***ing!

"But he said he didn't use any 'other deck'!"

Oh! I did a floating bill without IT! :P

ming - August 15, 2006 01:57 PM (GMT)
He can't possibly have thrown cards out of the window. There would be a huge reaction from the other cars on the street.

Maddened - August 15, 2006 02:57 PM (GMT)
A pack of cards.
A needle.
A spool of thin fishing thread.
A bus.
A cock-eyed friend. (Or a friend in cahoots with you)
Some other eyewitnesses.
Lots of b*lls.

Droicut - August 15, 2006 03:50 PM (GMT)
Oh wait, I so totally missed out on the fact that it's a non-aircon bus. Meh. <_<

hoaxter - August 16, 2006 06:10 PM (GMT)
is there still non aircon bus service in singapore lol...........nvr seen 1 anymore lol ...weird!

ming - August 17, 2006 09:16 AM (GMT)
Most buses have aircon, but some services still have. I think all the buses that go on the expressways are fully-aircon-ed, so if you usually take those buses, then you'd most likely never see a non-aircon bus.

Freeze - August 17, 2006 02:24 PM (GMT)
Yeap, you can check with the bus number 325 if they still have non-aircon buses if there's any doubt.

xLoStLoVEx - August 19, 2006 11:48 PM (GMT)
Don't think it's possible, so many flaw points..

1st: Throwing out stuff will distract drivers around. (But u said there is no car around).

2th: It's a chargable offence to litter in Singapore, and even serious chargable offence to throw something out of a vehical, serious cases will even get your car confisticated or end you up in jail. In this case if someone spotted him and report him or best, police saw it, he will be in deep shit.

3rd: If he tried to do that big illusion it takes really lots of courage and wisdom to clear up the mess and to make it perfect. Can someone really do that wisely and perfectly? Then that person must be a some one. You got what I mean? (Maybe he just don't care but master it for fun and continue be a no one but how can that be if he knew this day will come, to show a big illusion in a bus to be some one. Lolz...)

4th: Did you saw the cards really flied out and lay on the road? (If you really saw the cards totally flat on the road that means he really throw the card out... That can't be illusion. -___-'')

5th: Why don't you have the courage and just walk up to him and ask for his name and number? When a uncle beside can even talk to him. You know, you can just walk up and say "Hi, your magic impressed me, I'm a illusionist/magician/mentalism/student myself, I would like to exchange contact". If you can hear the uncle beside talked to him it mean you are near him, just walk up and do it.

6th: How will someone carry more than 2 decks of card unless got other special deck, obviously, mostly, probably, he is planning to do this in this non air con bus. And all 325 no air-con? Is like, wow he's so lucky, on this time, this date, he got to board a non air-con bus to perform this trick.

After all the above points it just make me lol. -______-''!!!!!!!!!

I think you are just making this out to make us "wonder", or maybe just you think too much out of your life while travelling then this illusion came into your day-dream.. Looolz..

zomaziz - August 20, 2006 01:34 AM (GMT)
Hmm... Good points. (imagine a road with bicycle cards all about)

Heh, cant help but notice: if it wasn't for xlostlovex, this thread would have turned into a bus discussion topic. :)

anyway, maybe Freeze could re-describe the trick?
You mean that guy actually (and visually) sprang a whole deck out of the window and started reproducing a whole deck card by card?

Since the magi did say he'll "bring the cards back"... :g: Maybe he really did! hahaha~ (errr, yeah, i'm kidding)

cioxxx - August 20, 2006 03:24 AM (GMT)
Well everyone was sceptical when David Copperfield wanted to make the Statue of Liberty disappear, I guess its the same now isn't it?

Again, I don't think Freeze would be so free to make up a story like that. If it happened, it happened. The only bad thing he didn't do was to get the guy's contact.

Freeze - August 21, 2006 01:41 PM (GMT)
lostlove, here's your anwers:

1st: I said : " the only loophole i could find is there wasn't any cars
horning when it was done, NOT there were no cars around. ( Please
get your facts right before stating it)

2nd: That's why i said that's a loophole, and that's why i said the
driver scolded him.

3rd: Why not? He could had learned this new trick, looks cool,
practiced for quite awhile and showed it to his friend. ( You mean to
tell me you don't show great illusions out when you've learned it?)

And why not perfect? I wouldn't say it's perfect but he sure did it
without much flaws, hiding his angles well ( if there are any), looks
confident (to me). ( So you're saying you're a magician that doesn't
master your traits well? )

4th: You should really go read the article i wrote again.

5th: Wow, you shouldn't be here, you should join a social ask for a
number forum, give some great tips there, i bet you'll do well. ;)
Oh yea, i should go and introduce myself: "Hi, i'm a magician and
i'm trying to share a little limelight is it okay? Let's exchange
contact number! Come again? What tricks i know? I know how to
make the coin dissappear and make it appear inside your nostrils
cool huh?

6th: Once again, get your facts right. You failed english or you just
do not know how to read?

I'm truly saddended that in a community where the line between reality and illusion are blurred, i am being said to make these up, David Copperfailed.

yong_tianadeline - August 21, 2006 02:14 PM (GMT)
Wow. Fireworks going off...

Cool down Freeze...(No pun intended)
I agree some things he said overboard but don't have to change this into a "words war".

And xLoStLoVEx, even if there are points that you think are not 'right',
there's no need to say that Freeze made it all up.

QUOTE

Btw, if this is what i think you are trying to say, I used to bring FOUR decks of cards with me when i go out..

Yea, Peace people.

Hmm... Good points. (imagine a road with bicycle cards all about)

That'll be just like China! Their roads are seriously full of bikes!

I really think that Freeze isn't making this up because... I think he's not so free (Pls no bad puns on Free-ze being free..).

The main question about this now is if you really saw the cards flying out onto the street. And if the bus was moving.

cioxxx - August 21, 2006 02:48 PM (GMT)
Man, what's with all the pun?! I guess Freeze's kinda bummed that he didn't get the contact details of that guy. We wouldn't need to go through all this if he did.

Paradoxt - August 21, 2006 03:16 PM (GMT)
Freeze. I don't know who you are, but no offece, I don't like your attitude. Your explanation was not clear but yet, you rudely tell people to " please read my post again". We are just interested in something so unusual. If you want to post a thread with so little details, you should expect questions like " did you get his number? "

You told lostlove to " get his facts right ". How about you calm down and consider that fact that he read your post wrongly.

If you don't have any connection to the person that did this, then why are you defending him so seriously?! Lostlove was just trying to contribute and list out some flaws. Your reply seriously made it sound like you made up this story, and that people are listing out the flaws, and you are not happy that we are tearing apart your story.

Think about this. If you still think that you are right to be so rude, than I got nothing else to say.

Freeze - August 21, 2006 03:32 PM (GMT)
Right, i apologise about the attitude of mine previously, and no i'm not defending him, i'm defending my stand.

Well, interested you say? Then once again i think lostlove's tone wasn't very good about being interested, sounded more like : "finding faults" (No offence).

And if he didn't read the post properly, never mind, let's assume he didn't read it clearly, surely he should had read it more clearly before assuming that it's a make up right?

I don't mind if some people believe this or not, but i don't like people criticising as if you know it all. I mean, seriously, exams, projects, work are all weighing down on me, do you think i still have the time to actually make up a story of my own? Probably, but i don't really see the need too. I might as well send it for a magical story competition, where i might win something, more materialistic ain't it?

So yea, once again, peace with my attitude, but please, if you're REALLY interested in my article, ask. Don't assume.

ming - August 21, 2006 03:51 PM (GMT)
Actually, lostlove's post did sound rather offensive. Maybe it was just the excessive lol-ing about.

Anyway, you didn't answer my questions: Did you actually see the cards flying outside the window? And if you did, was the bus moving?

Maddened - August 21, 2006 03:58 PM (GMT)
Wow are you guys like seriously proud of your behaviour?

I mean, really, are you?

To be fair, I'll just say two things:

1) If you want to point out something contrary, at least be polite. You'll only end up being regarded as a gentleman even if your claims are later proven wrong or outrageous. Taunting and mocking should be reserved for English football hooligans.

2) If you want to defend something of your own, at least be polite. The whole "My opinion is just as good as any opinion so suck it if you can't take it!!" kind of attitude belongs with 13 year olds who have small heads and big egos. You want to be treated seriously, then learn to take everyone else seriously.

If you can't find it in you to be polite because you're too pissed, or too stressed, or your house is on fire, then do everyone a favour and don't post until you can calm yourself down. By arguing and trading wisecracks and what-not can only deteriorate the quality of the thread, upset other readers, and potentially stop any useful discussion that may be going on.

That said, I think one really has to be there to understand the circumstances and conditions surrounding the trick. Otherwise, as I've said in my earlier post, I believe I can recreate the effect as described using a normal deck, a needle, some sewing thread, and a lot of guts. And Freeze could offer more details: Was he wearing a long sleeve shirt? Where were you seated to be precise and how much of him and the cards can you see? Was he sitting near the front or the back of the bus? How did he re-produce the cards; i.e. standard back**** production or...?

But in the end, I don't think we should really be trying to figure out how a trick is done. Rather it may be more useful trying to recreate the effect given these conditions. More creative too in my opinion.

QUOTE (Freeze @ Aug 15 2006, 01:16 AM)
Yes it was moving, normal speed. Not floating but just like how cards look like when shot out of the window. Cards flying everywhere and everything.

There you go, haha, but everybody did look out. And yes, it really really looked like the cards were dribbled right out of the window, everybody looked at the magician a brief moment then turned their attention to the ouside of the bus. Bus was moving at that time so the head action goes like this:

Head turns right
Head turns -45 degrees right
Body follows Head as it moves
Finally, Head and Body was turning backwards and then with a flash, turns straight back at the magician.

Hope you got what i mean and hope this helps. :)

About Maddened questions, Sorry , i didn't take notice of the shirt he was wearing, but i think it easily might had been long sleeves, though how did he stuff the 52 cards inside his sleeves? hmm.. to me, i believe it was still an illusion well done where the cards were actually still with him though giving us the impression he dribbled them out

About the way he got back the cards: it was something like this:

Similar, but different: I can't find the URL in youtube for now, when i found it, I'll post it up asap.

muscleaxl - August 22, 2006 12:24 PM (GMT)
Just saw this thread today, and thought I should put in a bit of my humble opinions...

1. Eh.... regarding about the trick itself, I am also quite curious to know whether the cards really did fly out or did it just "appeared to fly out"? Did the cards really landed on the road? (think most of you had asked this too... sorry)

2. I really think lostlove sounded quite rude. I can understand Freeze's reactions when somebody accused you of making up a story to gain attention. So perhaps a apology from lostlove? Of course, i'm not saying Freeze was right in the way he replied.

3. Also a few points for lostlove:

a) Whether Freeze choose to approach that guy is entirely his business. Who are we or anybody to "teach" him what to do? I don't see why you should have a problem with that.

B) As somebody had mentioned, why can't we, as magicians, bring 2 decks of cards? I do, many times, because I just learned a new trick and is itching to show to somebody.

c) Why can't that guy be lucky to board a non air-con bus? Most of us need some luck in finding the right audience and the right conditions to perform. Sometimes, we have to purposely find or make the conditions, so maybe that guy chose to board a non air-con bus?

Ok, I hope that doesn't come across as very offensive, I am a peaceful guy. Just that I really feel some of your points are not that reasonable.

HarapanOng - August 22, 2006 12:31 PM (GMT)
Haiyoh... why are we arguing and bickering over whether the trick was described properly, whether it is even possible, whether it was all made up, why didn't he go up to ask for contact?

How about if we just be amazed by such a story, think of how it can be achieved, and stop. Please, don't hurt relations in a forum over an effect.

Sheesh.

ming - August 22, 2006 12:57 PM (GMT)
There's nothing wrong with being on a non-aircon bus.
Some guy decides to take a bus, then being on a non-aircon bus, he performs the trick. If he does not get a non-aircon bus, then, he obviously won't perform the trick. It's just a coincidence that someone from this forum was on the same bus as the guy performing.

LOL... I'm sure I'll be able to hold back whatever I want to post if my house was on fire.

But anyway, I agree with HarapanOng. :g:

If you think about it, well... No one's questioning whether the effect is possible. We're kinda like wondering if there are still magicians this stark-raving-crazy to pull it off.

xLoStLoVEx - August 26, 2006 03:46 AM (GMT)
Lolz man, wasn't onto for something. And yah this trick can be done easily without even practice, or should I say, just practice 1 move and you can get it done effortlessly.

Now I realized the mod has edited my post, I had actually post a possible steps to do that. But don't think it's right to write that down in this forum.

Anyway this is the cute version so mod please don't delete I don't think I reveal anything, is just the steps according to his post.

And neway, it's not I had attitude problem or whatever, it's ur perception problems. I'm just pointing out cause I can't help stop laughing when I read your post, so unclear and was cute. Haha..

Basically if the cards really drop outside on the road like I said it was clearly not an illusion.

-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-

Explaination to the trick, (Now I just simplifield it):

1st, everyday you must brought like 4 normal deck out with you everyday.
(1st to throw out of the bus, 2nd to reproduced, 3rd to reproduced again if someone asked, 4th to do normal card trick which will not be use in this routine.)

2nd, now, call and ask your friends out everyday and wait at the bus stop for non aircon bus..

3rd, sooner or later the bus will come, don't worry, just wait.. Then happily board the bus..

4th, now you are in the bus, find a place to sit, you better don't do this while standing. Now, purposly say out loud "Do you believe I can shoot all the cards out of the bus and I can take it back one by one"

5th, it caught everyone attention.

6th, next thing you just say "But hey look this is cool isn't it?", then you just dribble it all out the window..

7th, Obvious people turns and catch the look of the cards outside cause it's like "what the hell is that?!"

8th, now, while they are looking and you get scolded, you can even strip naked and wear it back no one will realize cause the attention is on the cards outside.

9th, this is where the illusion begin, *just take your bag down open and take another deck out..* Now do whatever suit you best to take deck, cards out of nowhere.

10th, people will ask you how you do it and you must have a extra deck. Replied with a "NO" cause you had 4 deck not 2.

11th, repeat the trick..

12th, now everyone is impressed.

13th, anyone who goes online will post this of what they saw into other forum and it will be another " Lolz " topic. And best of all you are famous.
-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-

PS PEOPLES: I'm smiling and typing this, I didn't had anything against him. It's just so funny. I don't know man just find it funny. Maybe cause I don't speak much Chinese and he did a direct translation from chinese/singlish or something I'm not sure lolz. you will find it funny.. I meant, just find someone who doesn't speak much Chinese like a ang moh and read this thread, it's really " loooolz " :!!:

Hey man, if it was funny to you and it entertained then good for you. I'm just afraid that that entire post came off really sacarstically and didn't do much good for this thread anyway. I hope the mods can close this thread or something. This topic is really going downhill.
