Torn And Restored news paper should be one of the most oldest and classic effect.
Just asking if this dvd is worth it and does anyone has it.

Thanks

I personally use Gene Anderson's version. U might want to check it out. And if you have the cash, you might want to invest on Robert Baxt's Better Nespaper Tear! woohoo!!!

It's an investment if you ask me. Newspaper tear is something that can last you your lifetime.

This has nothing to do with reviews for Torn and Restored Newspaper effects, but I would just like to say that personally, I feel that such effects generally should not be performed. This is one example, I feel, of one of those "puzzle" effects, where although the audience do not know exactly how you did it, they probably will have an idea of the mechanics (and it's not difficult to be correct), and having an idea which is not dismissed to be false (no, I doubt flipping through the pages at the end count as proper proof) makes the effect very less magical then I would like it to be.

Back to the original subject, The Bauer version is interesting because once you make the gimmick you can re-use it for a number of performances. IMHO the anderson method is prettier but you need to make a new "thing" for each performance.

Consider that Bauer's background is tradeshows and he used to perform the same set of effects over and over. In that venue he (and any reasonable performer) would be drawn towards something that can be reused. OTOH, if you are performing the effect once or twice in an evening then the overhead of preparing the anderson paper isn't too bad.

Also, (and I like and respect Joel) learning from his video can be a bit of an effort.

Haha. Alright, I get what you mean.

Thanks for the great reviews. I'm gonna buy it

in terms of the effect, is there any difference between Bauer and Anderson??

The effect is great but he talk too fast. I cant even follow a bit. Hahaz
