4-DVD set of a pretty excellent guide for the beginner mentalist. A little breakdown of what's in each volume:
Volume 1 - Mentalism for the Casual Performer Part 1
Learn the useful "Add a Number" effect that uses a principle that'll come in handy for other sort of stuff. There's a number duplication effect, a picture duplication effect, Banachek's ESP opener, "This 'n That", and some more stuff. Banachek also talks about his life and history.
Volume 2 - Mentalism for the Casual Performer Part 2
Ring of Truth, Phone Psychs (a booktest effect with a phonebook), Word of the Ring (a novel approach to a booktest), Number Reversal (a VERY popular impromptu effect), Stigmata (Banachek's version of it), and a bonus explanation of a Q&A routine. Interviews talk about his earlier days doing the Buried Alive, his Bullet Catch and his Blindfold Drives.
Volume 3 - Psychophysiological Thought Reading (Muscle Reading)
This is THE only DVD out there that explains and teaches how to do muscle reading. Muscle reading is about as close to real mind-reading as you can get. No peeking, glimpsing, forcing etc. Get a spectator to mentally think and concentrate on something, grab her hand and off you go. This is what Criss Angel did on his TV show when he won a car. Banachek explains how to start practicing it, shows various effects you can do, and this DVD includes Banachk's first national television appearance where he uses Muscle Reading to find a playing card in a shopping mall.
Interviews explains how to work with agents, getting booked, performing on the radio, getting publicity, using disclaimers, accepting challenges, and more.
Volume 4 - Psychokinesis
A simple listing of what on it will be easier:
Nail Bends • Key Bends • Coin Bends • Silverware Bends • PK Pen • Permission & Warnings for Keys • Displays (for maximum reactions) • Bending Coins • The Volunteer Feels • It Why Quarters? • Putting the Physical Bends in Coins • Where to Bend & Display Coins • Silverware & Bag Method • Spoon Bending (new method) • Switching Spoons • Stage vs. Impromptu • Whose Silverware To Use • Angles • Pencil PK • PK Pen • About PK • Audience Perception
Bonus Interviews: Alpha Project • Too Much Power
Each DVD retails for US$34.95. A 4-DVD set will cost US$109.50 without shipping. I'm selling my 4-DVD set (watched a grand total of 2 times each) at $150.
There is a small problem with Disc 2. Somehow, when the DVD came, there was a small spot of blue thingy on the surface of it. You can watch everything fine though, only that it will skip about 10 seconds at the blindfold drive part. I've watched it twice and all the performance and explanations are perfectly intact.
So for that reason, I'll suffer a bit of loss by giving cutting another $5.
This 4-DVD set is selling for $145! PM me or post here if you're interested. Cheers! :)
Hmm.... At less than $40 per DVD, no takers? :(
Ok, price reduced to $140 for the set. That's $35 per DVD.
