Other then magic,
I am very involved in the creation/evolution controvesy. (updating myself with the latest news/findings daily). I also teach on the subject. Currently a support group volunteer with
Creation Ministries International (formerly Answers In Genesis) as well as an active member on the Creation Research Society email forum.
Creation Ministries International will be having a speaker (Dr. John Harnett) in Singapore for a week in October. PM me for more details if you are interested. :off:
In my free time, I enjoy reading books on philosophy especially in the area of Christian Apologetics and Epistemology (especially in the area of Presuppositional Apologetics and Logic)
I'm also a fossil collector and also engage in extreme sports whenever possible. (e.g. sky diving, etc)
I fence (foil) occasionally and also love indoor soccer and strategic computer games (i.e. Total War series)
ninku10 - August 24, 2006 07:55 AM (GMT)
I bascially train hard in the gym whenever i got the time so that i can do my spoon/fork bending with total ease. ;) It is similar to practising magic. The more you do, the better is the end result.
I would be more than happy to give pointers to those who want to train but don't know how.
joeltay81 - August 24, 2006 08:07 AM (GMT)
Exercise for fingers? haha!!! :D :ph43r:
Is it really necessary? Just get use to softer forks!
:!!:
yong_tianadeline - August 24, 2006 11:14 AM (GMT)
Me.. Besides magic, i study, read books, play badminton every week (obviously doesn't show on my size), also play table-tennis (sch team once) and do swimming and bowling occasionally. I also like to do a spot of juggling and ballooning. :P
My main hobby besides magic is reading though i do collect loads of other things here and there as well (eg. coins and bills).
Basically under books, i love forensic thrillers like the Kay Scarpetta novels; Qing history books;swordsman novels; science thrillers and things on paranormal etc etc...
Oh. And i cook and bake. (ie. cheescakes; chocolate cakes; bread)
A.
Just realise that i got loads of things that i am doing.
Jack of some trade, master of none..
Edit: Forgot to mention my interest in Chinese stuff like Chinese painting..
(reading a elective on Folk Opera appreciation now :g: *don't faint pls*)

Firstly, nice thread.
Other than magic/flourishes, I do enjoy immersing myself in metal music and their culture, I guess that's pretty obvious enough to the regulars here. \m/ Hails.
Other than metal music, I do love to read (horror/sci-fi/philosophy/paranormal) as well. Then appreciate films, especially those in German language and related to the Nazi Regime. Followed by musing on all things, and coming up with my own manifestos and philosophy, which are still in its infant stage.
Other than magic shops that I patron, I loved to visit the libraries and all major bookstalls to free load the books. :P Yes, you know now, I am a nerd.
Oh yes, I'm a forum member of SPI and Supernatural as well, so much for my interest in the supernatural and paranormal, but I'm not as active there as here in SMC.
I, too, enjoy writing stories and novels. And reading Harry Potter fanfiction rocks! :P
Used to enjoy basketball though. That was long long time ago. Used to love writing chinese calligraphy as well.
Other lesser hobbies or pastimes I indulge in are air drumming to metal, headbanging, think of interesting stuff.
In priority of my passion, I place magic/flourishes as a high second, next to metal music and their amazing culture. =)
So my other hobbies I delve in are more on the mind expansion. Lol.
Would be glad to hear more, people! ^_^

Besides magic...
1. Read. I would always prefer a non-fiction book over a fiction book. Therefore, books like... Harry Potter, Dan Brown stuff, not my liking. I even read encyclopedias and such, making kinda a nerd.
2. Flourishing. Hey, it isn't exactly magic, right?
3. Music. I love music, and I listen to practically all genres, from classical to metal. As long as I like it, I listen to it. I especially like Chinese pop, English pop, oldies and band/classical music. Band music rocks, sometimes I even air-conduct to myself. (Since I am in the band, this is not surprising.)
4. Internet. Ask my parents, they would know I am often seen using the computer, surfing the Web, MSN Messenger etc.
5. Study. YES YES YES I do take the initiative to study.
6. Eat. Hence the huge girth.
I guess that is about all... I also try to improve my mind, study the human mind/psychology and such.
All when I am 16.
Plus I am heavily in magic! How cool is that?!

Hmm.. I agree this is a good thread. At least we know we are not so 1-dimensional, only know magic, magic, magic, and more magic...
1. Football is my first love!! I can play football everyday like nobody's business (during my sec school days). Eh.. of course that contributed to my not-so-fantastic academic results. I have supported Manchester United all my life and Ryan Giggs is my favourite player. Anybody here interested in playing football can PM me. But restricted to court football, since my stamina really cannot make it nowadays!!
2. I love reading too. I was into personal development and NLP a few years ago, but now, since becoming a believer, has been reading more on Christian apologetic stuff.
3. Any kind of money making ideas. Ok, maybe not any, but I am welcome to hear any ideas which can generate $$$. When you have no worries about money, you can truly spend your time indulging in what you really love... be it music, magic, football or religions. PM me if you think you have a business idea!
4. Singing. I actually had a band back in my poly days. But I couldn't play a guitar even if my life depended on it. So I was made the lead singer due to my lack of technical ability. My favorite singers include Guns N Roses, Beyond, Wu Bai, Shin (hey, I think from the list, you all can tell I am not that young compared to many of you) and more recently Jay Chou.

I'm a poor NSF who is "enjoying" his life in MINDEF as a finance administrator, in short, CLERK.
haha.. but dont be fooled, I love Football more than anything! I am still playing week-in week-out but considering playing everyday in my sec-sch days... hai...
Man Utd fanatic here. Idolized Giggs since i was young! DO YOU KNOW HE HAS THE SAME NAME AS ME, WILSON!
Too bad he went on to take his mum's family name after his parents' divorce..
well, since I'm in NS, on a 8 to 5 basis, I gonna pick up Japanese on my own too.. haha.. always loved their culture, their songs, their GIRLS!
Music-wise, nothing's better than Beyond to me! A huge Ka Kui fan here
But i do adore bands like Oasis, Queen... but I've been listening to loads of J-rocks like X-japan's, Dir En Grey, Luna Sea, Glay, B'z etc ... soooo cooolll..
used to go Mambo quite alot in the past (before i got enlisted) but havent been doing there nowadays... haha Retro Rocks...
Come to think of it... i still have tons of interests left out like jogging.... haha..

2) Mug

3) Excercise
One mth never do my workouts liao -_- body starting to get out of shape. Damn its hard to maintain a healthy lifestyle when you are already overwhelmed by school work and comic drawing.
LarryDK - September 27, 2006 06:44 PM (GMT)
My other interest is Cheerleading. Ya believe it or not, I am also a cheerleader and I did a few performance before.
Other than that, I think I only like this 2 kind of unique arts alot. :)
Cheerleading = train your body
Magic = train your soul
:)
bigbadwolf - September 28, 2006 01:53 AM (GMT)
Beside magic, the next thing you see me constantly doing will be rushing to submit my Uni projects and mugging for the occasional tests and exams.
BASICALLY, ya..NO LIFE.
:off: ACE: where do you sign up for your manga classes? I have a couple of classmates that are taking up these classes as well. And their drawings are
Lefty - September 28, 2006 03:25 AM (GMT)
I used to be actively involve in American Pool, use to be an active forumite of poolfanatic, take part in competitions, very much like the way i am crazy over magic right now, except the fact the i dont carry cue now but half a dozens of cards. After i pick up magic, i broke off with pool, and living happily with magic, sometimes i look at my cues, i feel sad for my ex ( i mean pool)
Music is my life, i am also crazy over music, got a band, use to jam alot, sings alternative rock from alter bridge ( tremonti roxs) , creed, muse, nickelback, 3 doors down and abit of "disturb"
Join alot of singing competitions, and bands out...
Trying so hard to "C" walk, but cannot really make it.
After learning history in my sec, i "was" very much crazy over Hitler ....
And of course, i am a beach obsess, love travelling to island, been to langkawi, phuket, tioman, redang, pattaya, phi phi, bintan, and countries like Hong Kong, thailand, australia and of course MALAYSIA. :)

Sieg Heil, mein Führer! [goosestep]
oops? hee hee hee.
Besides killing so many jews, Hitler is a great guy. Real charismatic guy with the wits.
neo23 - September 28, 2006 08:23 AM (GMT)
c walk?
get some tutorials and train.
Its easy if you set your mind to it.
joeltay81 - September 28, 2006 09:23 AM (GMT)
Hitler? A great guy?
He's a living consequence of living out the racist philosophy of Darwinism and Friedrich nietzsche.
From Darwin to Hitler: Evolutionary Ethics, Eugenics, and Racism in Germanyby Richard Weikart, Professor of Modern European History at California State University, Stanislaus.
The Darwinian roots of the Nazi tree
muscleaxl - September 28, 2006 10:35 AM (GMT)
Crazy over Hitler? What history books were you all reading?
Why would anybody in his right frame of mind would admire that short, inferiority-complexed, with-a-wierd-moustache, mass murderer?
He was not charismatic, he was a manipulative con-man!!
At least look up to somebody like MM Lee who really did a lot of good for us!
joeltay81 - September 28, 2006 10:50 AM (GMT)
 I agree with that. I'm quite anti-Hitler actually.
zomaziz - September 28, 2006 11:08 AM (GMT)
Nobody does something "wrong", they just do what they think is right.
I wouldn't call Hitler great, but I wouldn't call him evil, either.
and...
We're going reeeeaaaallly off topic here. :off:
I used to skateboard and play basketball asides from magic. However, I stopped both, each for it's own reasons. :(
Now my life revolves around magic and music. I love M and Ms! (burr)
Trix - September 28, 2006 11:38 AM (GMT)
Hitler is a phenomenal leader. He had good foresight to lead Germany to the top (despite its fall later). I watched a clip of him giving a speech, and it was inspirational (not content-wise, but the way he spoke with such authority, and the way he makes the impact in his statements). If i were a German in those days, perhaps i would be convinced to vote for him.
But again. What he done couldn't be tolerated, like what mr muscleaxl said.
Anyway.
Besides magic.
I have a band which plays mostly alternative/punk rock and sometimes pop rock. Favourite covers include Blink 182, Anti-Flag, Avenged Sevenfold, Fall Out Boy. Occasionally when we are bored we play tons of thrash music. We took part in many competitions. The furthest we went was 2nd round for Asian Beat 2005. :l
I listen to plain metal and all kinds of rock.
And my life is also about mugging. mugging. mugging.. :l
Yay.
[Ling] - September 28, 2006 12:35 PM (GMT)
Okay, I shall not spawn a highly controversical and political debate here that could lead us all to no conclusion except bloodshed. I respect your views and opinions on this issue. :) Everyone's entitled to theirs right? Yep. However, don't get me wrong as a damned facist or teenage wannabe cause I am an avid reader of philosophy as well.
Anyway, on other unrelated matters, I love metal too, Trix! \m/ My passion ever since i was in secondary 1. It's so ingrown in me that I would feel uneasy if i were to stop listening for a day. Heh. I love Cradle of Filth, Rammstein, Dimmu Borgir, Marilyn Manson, Emperor, just to name afew. I had a band called Infernal Saint, but it was a very short-lived project saddly. =(
Cadbury - September 28, 2006 01:19 PM (GMT)
Piano - Learning grade 8 now!!! Just passed my g7 a few weeks ago hehehe
Music - Obviously classical, and also Jpop, and recently JJ's songs
Table tennis - Need some kakis to play with me man, its my only sport now.

MilkCar - September 30, 2006 03:48 AM (GMT)
What do I do other than magic?
Interesting..
Well for starters I play the guitar.
^^
I study, eat, sleep, blah blah.
Sometimes I think of when I'm going to get my license to carry a gun.
Lefty - October 3, 2006 01:45 AM (GMT)
haha, if you understand how hitler plan his moves to successfully walk over some many countries, then you will know why i admire him, he is just so smart. Anyway he reallly did alot of bad things so hes wrong in some ways, but he is just talented man, even got his own BIBLE!!! Swastika... :)
muscleaxl - October 3, 2006 05:26 AM (GMT)
I can tell you Hitler was not smart, he was a just maniac with perverse ideas. Remember, if you are Asian, he hated you!!
Secondly, he was just lucky in the initial stages that the British PM Neville Chamberlain decided on the policy of appeasement. If he was facing Winston Churchill right from the, things would have been so much different. And he wasn't that brilliant as you think making a fatal tactical error in attacking Russia, yet failing to capture it, which eventaully lead to Germany's defeat.
Anyway, I think you probably wouldn't be saying he was a great leader if you are really under his rule. Try having the secret police to monitor your every move and every words, having to fear for you and your loved ones lives everyday. That's the kind of "great leadership" you are admiring?
True leadership must be guided with integrity, if not, it's just tyranny.
Lefty - October 3, 2006 09:33 AM (GMT)
Relax man, its just my point of view.
SO he is a mad man, do alot of crazy stuff, hate me, but i still think he is cool.
Lamadude - October 3, 2006 10:53 AM (GMT)
Haha, has this post become a histroy lesson? haha.
muscleaxl - October 3, 2006 10:58 AM (GMT)
Sorry man, didn't wanted the thread to become as such.
I just can't help but worry when people start admiring people like Hitler. I shall stop the Hitler thing here.
rh89 - October 3, 2006 01:32 PM (GMT)
Hmm, other than magic,
I do photography! Photog rocks. I have a deviantart account and I spend lots of time there. Then I do writing stuff, a bit of journalism for school mag and such, take photos for them too. And I'm supposed to be in recreational badminton, and we're supposed to play once a week but since the onset of the evil exams, no one plays. Oh, cycling's real fun too.
Being a humanities student, literature is absolutely fantastic, although my marks say otherwise. History is a nice subject, except when it comes to exams.. and econs, I wish I'd never taken it. As for the inherently evil maths, I don't want to comment.
And since I'm a student, of course, I have to mug, even though I dislike it a lot and always leave it to the last minute.
Music, I think Ling knows.. I like Billy Gilman (and so does she!) and Libera and Billy Joel and Robbie Williams.
[Ling] - October 3, 2006 01:44 PM (GMT)
Oh yes! Billy Gilman is my latest obsession! (besides Marilyn Manson).
If you are really bored or something, check out his song, One Voice. Heh!
