Just an update for those that are interested:

I've spent the past two weeks designing and producing the Street Illusions compilation video. Content-wise, this is a 90min compilation video with probably more magic that any other single video in the world... Since it is a compilation video of 15 episodes and we did an average of 3 - 5 effects each episode, there are at least 60 effects in the main part of the video.

On top of the above, there are 15 more 'quickies' with the episode links that were taped separately. In addition, there is a bonus feature with 15minutes of new material not shown on TV. This is all in English and produced 100% by my team. (You will notice the stark difference in style and treatment). In this bonus feature, you will see my full original routines/ handlings for Oil & Water, Nut & Rope, Cups & Balls (2 -Cup), Mind Power Deck and Kollosal Killer.

So, the video will contain a total of 80 different close-up effects and illusions. Trust me, you will not be able to watch this in one sitting. Due to the pacing, your brain will be magic-fried after the first 20min. I couldn't even concentrate after the first 15min... and I know what is going to happen.

The TS Group is the licensee of this video and will be distributing the VCD version in Singapore and Malaysia. The VCD should be available in all good video stores, not just TS retail outlets.

The scheduled release is 3rd September and I'm supposed to be doing some in-store appearances as part of the promotions. Not sure how that will work out yet as I'm booked solid for other shows that whole week. But, I will keep you posted.

I suppose that is really good news for yourself and the magic community in Singapore in general. I don't think there has been something like this in before (someone please correct me if there was), and I am looking forward to the release, JC. I wish you nothing but success for your complilation :)

Hi,

VCD will be released 1st or 2nd week of Oct 2006. More likely 1st week. Video content and cover artwork has been completed and are in the final stages of approval.

The time consuming process is due to the levels of vetting and approval needed by the various parties involved.

Price will be between S$10 - S$15 for the VCD.

The DVD version available only through Concept:Magic will be about S$20 - S$25 and will be available on the 3rd week of Oct 06. I have recorded the audio commentary and give a lot of behind the scenes insight on the video content.

I will be making several appearances at shopping malls and road shows in Oct and will keep you guys posted of exact shedule when that is available.


On a separate note, I'm working on another new media Street Magic project. Filming will be done in the last two weeks of Oct 06 and you will see the magic in Dec 06.

Just want to update you that the public appearance schedule has completely changed.

For the month of Oct, the VCD will be launched at one roadshow launch.

The VCD Launch Road Show wiil be at the Jurong Entertainment Centre on the following dates/ times:

21 Oct (Sat / Deepavali) @ 5pm

23 Oct (Mon) @ 7pm

24 Oct (Tue / Hari Raya Puasa) @ 1pm & 5pm

28 Oct (Sat) @ 6pm


I will be doing a autograph/ 'Meet & Greet' as well as performing a 20min set during each session.

Jurong entertainment centre is located at Jurong east interchange/ mrt there.
Its the place where there's the only ice-skating ring (i think) in singapore.
