Description: where do it get it?

binaryzero_1 - August 31, 2006 01:31 PM (GMT)
Hi, just wanna ask where can i get the moving pips card gimmicked? like example u got the 6 of spades then shake the card the pips slowly came out to change to 7 of spades.?? anyone know?

Ace - August 31, 2006 01:43 PM (GMT)
I got it from a member in SMC. He got it from a friend in london

I dun think he still have stock now. Plus i dun think can find it in singapore either.

You can try asking the dealers for help? :)

binaryzero_1 - August 31, 2006 01:49 PM (GMT)
ok thanks...how much u got it? and how the gimmicked look like when its moving the pips, issit 100% safe to do? :D

bigbadwolf - August 31, 2006 02:21 PM (GMT)
Similar to what Ace said, we got it from DoubleLifter.

And ya its kind of difficult to get it in here. Maybe you can try the dealers

What do you mean safe to do?

Its a very well constructed gimmick, plus its easy to use too

Ace - August 31, 2006 02:21 PM (GMT)
I got it for $30.

If u want a video of the thing in action just check out cyrils card trick on youtube.

For me its 100% safe cos i've never been caught once. You would need to ditch the gimmick after performing the trick.

binaryzero_1 - September 1, 2006 09:17 AM (GMT)
ditching is easy, i just love to see the pips moving. LOL ya i saw cyril in youtube, nice one. gonna have to find the gimmicked.

joeltay81 - September 9, 2006 10:24 AM (GMT)
I've been searching all over the net but I can't find any for sale. Any tips?

GordonLi - September 9, 2006 12:14 PM (GMT)
I've been trying to look for it too, but I cannot find any, not a single one.

I think the effect seems pretty cool, like one of those gambling shows on TV with special effects where the card slowly changes to a desired one. Lot's of potential and very visual.

Where can I get one?

Are you guys refering to those gaff cards used in 'Army of 52' ? maybe u guys can try looking for those cards on Ellusionist webby. They carry those gaffs cards and they also provide custom make service if i am not wrong. Cheers! ^^

exohordon - September 9, 2006 02:19 PM (GMT)
I saw it being sold on a UK site some time ago. If I chanced upon that site again, I will let you guys know.

This is a mechanical gaff. It's not the same as those provided by Ellusionist.

What is the actual name of the moving pips trick? Is it just "Moving pips" or wat?

bigbadwolf - September 10, 2006 11:20 PM (GMT)
It's Moving Pips by Rob Bromley

Reuben_Wong - April 22, 2007 02:18 PM (GMT)
Hmm?

Which ones are you guys talking about?
I don't believe that Cyril's Moving Pips had ever been officially marketed.

The only ones that had a similar effect is the "New Era Moving pips" from a Japanese Classic Book 5 times 5 japan.

I DO know of one that Cyril uses now.
But unfortunately I'm not entitled to reveal any information as requested by the creator.

Here's a video of me showcasing how it looks like in performance.

I'm wondering if this is the same one you guys mentioned earlier.
Cheers

I do know where to get the cryils moving pips.

Pm me for more info.

exohordon - April 23, 2007 05:39 AM (GMT)
Here's an item that would achieve the same effect:

Moving Points By Seo Magic

You can purchase it from me or through any of the dealers here. The gimmick is well made.

bigbadwolf - April 23, 2007 08:29 AM (GMT)
If you are talking about the one from a particular local magic shop, I rather recommend you getting it from exohordon. The gimmick from the local store isn't very well made and is very fragile. -_-

exohordon - April 23, 2007 08:33 AM (GMT)
Yes, the gimmick for the so called local version is fragile and overpriced IMHO.

I know of a cheap source which is cheaper and yet stronger and easier to use. Its not as fragile as what big bad wolf has claimed and it is a visual movement of 2 pips unlike one pip. The "local version" form my source is simlar to the orginal version made popular my cryil. Can be shown on both sides too. PM me for more info.

zib - April 23, 2007 09:28 AM (GMT)
Oh my. yea. i totally agree with sheeke.
the price of his moving pip is reasonable and the quailty is not bad as well, will last a few years and his moving pips is as visual as the cyril version. I got one from his source. You guys might wanna contact him for more info. And yea hes version has 2 pips moving unlike one which bigbadwolf recommended.

i own both, so i compared and can say this.

Broderick - April 23, 2007 09:32 AM (GMT)
Ive seen him perform before, very very very VISUAL.

Eh bro you nvr tell me you got source.
Help me buy one leh!!!

phsycofreak - April 23, 2007 09:54 AM (GMT)
guys , dont think i am a bit ego down here,

firstly new era moving pips is great and u dont even touch the card with ur hands and it is more visual

secondly, u can gimmick your own one. I spent some time thinking on how to creat your own one, and it is a bit fragile, and it took me half an hour to create it, un fortunately the card got wet, during the rain :P

Do not misunderstood my previous post. The one that I referred to as fragile and poorly made is from a local magic shop. I've not seen sheeke's version before.

Since many has review that sheeke's version is visual, reasonable and has the quality, it must be pretty good ^_^

phsycofreak: If you just use only a single layer for the new era moving pip, it does not break easily.

Reuben_Wong - April 23, 2007 11:36 AM (GMT)
I actually ordered the moving points one already...
waiting to get it.

But i understand it's a little less visual from the Cyril version?
Since Cyril's one has pips moving in opposite directions...

Talking about moving pips. The silly old suspect website, penguin magic owes me one for a few months. Kept on saying stock has been delayed shipping in and say they will post it when it comes in... and they cannot give me a date. Either that or a refund. Madness! Of course I took the refund and ordered elsewhere. Waiting for a few months is crazy! Not the first time I had problems with them.

Ace - April 23, 2007 04:13 PM (GMT)
2 pips moving?! I'll get my hands on it asap! mwahaha! :!!:

Reuben_Wong - April 25, 2007 02:57 PM (GMT)
Hmmm that's odd.
The one I bought from the local source (I believe its the same one we're referring to)...
is not really cheaper.
In fact it's more expensive... and mine broke once.

Additionally I JUST got my moving points from seomagic.

And i've also the "moving pips" from a local magic shop that makes both pips move...

How it moves can be seen in this video here

However when I visited the Moving points website,
I found that they had supplied the version that Cyril might had used.

Like what some mentioned,
The seomagic workmanship is incredibly good.
(made in japan) it is very durable and will definitely "hit the mark" all the time.
