I graduated from Nanyang Business School in 2005. Times really fly. I went back recently, and wow! I was thinking…are they building Disneyland at Boon Lay interchange??? There are so much construction going on and I can’t even see Jurong Point…...even bus 179 takes a different route to reach NTU now…..
Actually, it’s a very nice, quiet place tucked in one small corner of Singapore. So while you are still there, enjoy as much as you can :D
peace - December 2, 2007 05:09 AM (GMT)
oh the female magician is claire. my senior from aj!
to yujie: there's even a public schoolbus for us now. haha! 179A.
anyway, i'm a nbs yr2. exams are over! :g:
thinking of organizing a magic competition for professional magicians or budding ones in singapore probably next sem. what do u guys think? will anyone be interested? (:
i believe there're things the organizing comm has to take note of such like venue restrictions..licensing..venue..categories?? are there any other essential points i need to take note of?
hope to hear from ur experiences! (:

meggidodimus - May 21, 2010 03:17 PM (GMT)
haha im from civil engin going year 2. but im just a newbie in tricks.
magic very expensive to pick up. anyone knows where to find tricks that's easy to practise? cards, coins etc, dun really need props one
Bao Long - May 22, 2010 09:33 AM (GMT)
Mabas, I'm interested in helping up to set up in ntu. Currently just enrolled into ntu 'chemical & biological chemistry'.
meggidodimus, self learn frm people who post tutorial on youtube? if not u can grab some dvd regarding card tricks.
Mabas - May 30, 2010 02:56 PM (GMT)
meggidodimus, Magic IS an expensive hobby. Totally agree. Anyway you should probably start with books. They are packed with loads of magic.
You can buy a dvd set for like 100++ dollars for 5-7 tricks/effects, but you can buy a book for the same price with like 30++ effects/tricks.
If you're starting out, you should get a beginner dvd set and a book. Nice way to start. And if this club gets going, maybe we can help each other with performance, exposure to events etc. Who knows? :)
Aim of club: To increase one's skill in the craft.
