Title: Master Edition Deck
[LV] - September 16, 2006 01:10 PM (GMT)
anyone got the new Master Edition Deck ?
Any reviews?

yep, got it. The ace is quite nice, with red colour on the inside of it.
The finish is supposedly good, the card stock are obviously thicker and the box is nice.
One thing i don't like is the gaff. Everyone receives the same card in the barcode. If you do it to a spectator who has seen it before, it's going to raise eyebrows.
Yeah

If you have the deck, shouldn't you know whether the finish is good or not, and not just supposedly good?

People have called the Masters Edition Decks Tally-hos or Alladins with Bicycle printing.
And... yeah, that's quite true. The finish isn't anything out of the ordinary.
The printing isn't perfectly centered, either. Just more centered than the past bikes... :P
(doesn't apply to all decks, so if yours is perfect, then... that's good.)
The ace has a nice design, although the previous ace actually has a more nostalgic feel. I mean, changing the ace really makes the deck different. It's not really the classic bicycle anymore, correct?
Of course, it's still good artwork. The box is thicker than other boxes as well, since the deck is thicker.
Also, the deck, being a normal red-back, matches gaffs. So its good for performance usage as well. Or if you want to use it with gaffs.
For the price, it's averagely worth it. I wouldn't stock up on too many of it.

well, ming, the finish is something like a normal bike. In fact, all new cards feel the same. Smooth, non-sticky, etc. It's only because of the UV finishing that makes it slightly more expensive, but hey, who does magic under black light?
oh well, i would prefer to get the ghost for the price. Nicer look and cooler.
Say, i don't mind buying the blue masters deck IF it is going to be printed. =))

i got the deck, but i facing some problems doing ECC. The feeling like ... *gone*.
I keep stacking over more than 1 card... zz and doing S/S and Snap, the sound like give away the trick.
I think of moving back to the normal deck.. need to destory this Master Edition FAST.
oh ya.. if you mix a normal bicycle card, you will sure get SPOTTED.

SOrry to say but, the master deck is no where near "master"....
It is so called to be higher quality deck but the printing is still off-center
I only like the part about dribbling it as the cut is better,
my reaction, same as wayne houchin, "WOW!" but later, "How normal can this deck be, the "master" deck is so perfect that you can never tell the different with the normal deck...."
my friend, "so you are saying that you just spend twice as much to buy the same deck, but different cover and the ace?"

How does the master deck compare with tally-ho viper? Pls comment on the card stock, the smoothness, or any differences between the two. Which do you prefer.
On UV finish, I thought that it makes the card smoother too and not only for the UV effect. That's why the viper deck is smoother then normal bic or tally ho.

Ok, i think that the tally ho viper is smoother. The viper has a very oily feel to it. This masters deck is just like a normal bike, with the usual smoothness you get from a new deck.
As for the card case, my masters case seems bigger than the viper. But i think the viper shares about the same stock as the masters.(
based on sight which may have some parallex errors.) I'm still looking for a micrometer to measure individual card stock.
I would prefer the viper if not for its price. ^_^
Say lefty, your friend's right! :(

lol lefty, i gotta agree with you. but honestly the ace is much nicer then previous bikes

Design of the Ace aside, the printing sucks. I was handling Ling's deck and the printing is so badly off centred, you can use it as a one way force deck. This is my 2c worth... Quality doesn't justify the big price but if you're a collector then of course you wouldn't want to miss out getting a deck for keeps. But if you're gonna be using them, forget it. Stick to tally hos instead if you don't like the regular bikes.
