See....you have all this skills, and you constantly need to find people to "vet" your new tricks. What better to do than to perform magic for charity? You can gain exposure for yourself, try out your new tricks, and get valuable experience which i think is extremely important. On top of all that, you will be doing a good deed for a
good cause.

Do consider people, i see some very talented people in here. Use your powers for good.....

And you will be doing something for a good cause at the same time. I promise you, if you can do 3 tricks, you are ready. It's walk around thing so u can show the same trick to many people.

what is this actually? its it stage,street or close up? kids or adults? because i seldom do kids stuff and i never go on stage

It's streets close up and it for kids, so that's the most ideal 1st step if you ask me. Should be really easy, just have a good attitude and a bright smile. Join us!

would you maybe tell us more abt the performance situation? e.g. u tok abt walkaround....is it kind of restaurant setting? or going from tables to tables, will there be tables to perform, for the venue is it a auditorium? i understand u might not know all these details, so any details will be helpful to us.

Ok, i've already met up with the organisers for this event already.
It's a Sharity Elephant (you know, the pink smiling elephant) event and it will be held in suntec.
The main task to walk around and engage/interest the children walking by, standing around etc etc to keep them interested and coming. So it's mostly walk around street magic style kinda stuff.
However, if anyone feels like it, they are very happy to have a stage show as well. :D
They are looking at the possibility of having a magic table/booth but the concern is once the interest starts, the magician will be swamped coz the main objective is to get the children interested in the other activities there. And children tend to get really cosy when there's a table...so..haha. So the likelihood is there wouldn't be a table. But it can be arranged if need be.

So far i've confirmed me and Ning doing it together. Ren might be joining in. Yujie i haven't asked because you said u r bz with ur fyp. But if you could join us it would be great as well!

like transportation...
best if u can perform tricks like levaitation(impossible now, cuz, it'll be many kids surrounding u..)
IT will be a good one...
cuz, it seems like magic and feels like one...
or maybe the hummer card trick?
spoon bending? all those tricks that looks magic interest them...
aviod tricks like using sleight of hands...

most will probably be bored off :)

Trust me, you are going to enjoy it It's one thing to perform for friends and family. But to actually go out and do it for other people is a completely different rush. Esp when you see the looks on the children's face. B)

But it MIGHT be a bit late coz they have to prepare some logistics, will see what i can do.

However, there are LOTS of opportunity if you are interested in performing for charities. The charities organisation very readily welcomes magicians for their events, esp the children charities.
Keep a look out here for volunteer magicians needed. Will surely let you all know when one is needed. Thanks!
