Title: Can We Post Explanation Video

ericchui - September 20, 2006 08:23 PM (GMT)
Can be post explanation video taken by ourselves?
If we guess the answer (it may not be the actual explanation of the trick)and make a video, can we post it at the forum to show our trial?

zomaziz - September 20, 2006 11:07 PM (GMT)
Of course not! Exposure is still exposure, be it official or unofficial...

... right?

Sorry, you can't do that. Please read our rules if you have not done so.

bigbadwolf - September 21, 2006 02:47 AM (GMT)
I hate to say this (no offence also)...but its DUMB to create this thread.

Which good magic forums have you seen allowing their members to post explanation videos on it? (apart from those kinds that are dealing with piracy)

Guessing the solution does not equal knowing the whole routine in full. (Presentation and handling)

ITS STILL EXPOSURE!!

(didn't mean to be harsh...but its really D***) -_-

Wow, eric you're new to magic? ( no pun intended )

Anyway, you have to respect the magicians code my friend. Even if you DO know the way it is done, keep it to yourself.

Think of it this way, your own creation or variation of a magic is being talked about or posted of roughly how it is done. Would you like that?

Keep the video for yourself my friend. =)

Well guys, maybe he wants to share his own inventions. Show his own tricks and explain them. Who knows~

Of course that on the other hand is not possible.

If you are intentionally posing a false video to mislead non-magicians - that's different I guess. Like a totally wacky and crazy explanation. But not a video about you guessing for real how a trick is done. .

Something like Penn and Teller? Heh. I think alot of things are hard to say, be guided by your own common sense and magical morals.

Dude... If first exposure, what next, piracy? And after that, cash for downloads? Magicians should be gentlemen, and yes, where's your morals!!!

I guess we should all respect the art of magic and not to expose it and to leeches out there , people with the passion should buy or get the trick in a respectable way.
