That guy didn't use any misdirection, it was right before the eyes. The spoon didn't seemed pre-b**d, and it was supposed to be a ungimmicked spoon.

If it's really ungimmicked, any idea where I can get this effect?

The spoon is ungimmicked (if that's how he defines it) . You need something extra to do the effect.

I made a set a few years back. Pretty easy.
