Title: Shops In Kl!!
Description: Sucky..

Went to KL last thursday and like any self-respecting magician, I made a trip to visit 2 of the magic shops mentioned in MMF, hoping to find something interesting (read: cheap).

But the shops (in fact, 1 of them is not even a "shop") were really disappointing.

1. Magic Ring at Berjaya Time Sqaure: Decks were overpriced (RM$20 for a regular bike, RM$50 for a special deck, gasp!!) and service was quite bad. The only thing good about here is the deco is still quite nice.

2. Andy's Magic at Sungei Wang: This is not a store, not even a push-cart, it just a table set up outside the shops. The guy would show you some simple tricks (ACR and simple coin across) and asked you to buy his own instructional DvDs. Nothing much to see here, basically just cheap HK or China Dvds.

Ok, this is for those who are going to KL.

Oh, just in case you did not know, there is one more at Pudu Raya bus station. He's david. What he does is keep recommending you to buy his discs which are VCD/DVD rip-offs from the original. He doesn't really perform though. Just keeps running disc after disc in hope that the customers will see what they like.

Andy magic is seriously the worst. No proper stall.

i still think magic ring is the best, nice purple look.(did you know that purple is the colour of sexual deprivation? ^_^ )

In Malaysia, Magic is usually much more expensive. It is probably considered "normal" for their Bicycles to be priced so high.

I've seen Magicians who came from Malaysia, and when they visit our local Magic Shops, they would buy decks like crazy, cos its so much cheaper compared to the prices they get there. Same goes for gaff decks..

Makes me wonder why the price difference, though Sg and Malaysia is so close. Shipping maybe?

To be honest, I think us online dealers here are very FRIENDLY with pricing. If you purchase from regular brick & motar magic shops, the difference in prices for Bikes aren't very far away from those in Malaysia.

Yes, DTJK is right... Shipping is a big reason, it's something we (dealers) have to pay for and it's not cheap. My policy since day 1 was for The Little Magic Shop (TLMS) is to absorb this fee where I can to pass on savings to you guys and girls, but these retailers have a shop with overheads to watch over, so there you have it :)

One thing nice about Magic Ring is his range of variety... besides magic, he's got some nice juggling stuff and fire staffs & pois ^_^
