i am teaching my 3 years son "tricks" :D

cup and balls; disappear ball to hat; and rabbits from the hat. He had master it with a 70%.

i guess they are able to do 3 acts and put them into a 5 to 7 mins show. B)

My two cents. :)

Cups and balls, chick pans, TT w silk, box that appears to be empty but items can be produced from(till now i still duno the exact name for tt tho. hee), gimmicked newspaper which u can pour water in n nothing comes out, ropes!

Do you mean the square and circle deception??

I feel that for kids as young as such, simple things like the VERY well known cups and balls can be taught... I wouldn't think think square circle deception should be included though.

Why? For the simple reason that the cups and balls are good enough to entertain (and easy to learn) and with a simple extra effort, you can perform the cups and balls to him/her (who knows the secret) and still have them scratching their head: "I thought must use four balls? Ah.. his/hers is really magic." kind of thing.

How do i know? Simple. My nephews.

Erm. nonono. its this box with cover on top and front n there's a mi**or inside so it appears to be empty when u look in thru the front? so u jus need to plant ur stuff inside. almost fool-proof. Er, get it? eheh.

Got one more. If u have the patience. Teach the kids ninja rings. :)

Linking rings may be too complex for 4 year olds... i tried teaching magic to a 5 year old before and in his glee after managing to successful fool his audience, he promptly squealed how it was done... Of course I was there 'piaking' my hand to my forehead. I was practically like a broken recorder going on and on and on about the magician's code as I tutored him patiently for the trick (a very simple tenyo parlor effect). But hey, kids will be kids *wry grin*

csjoshi, i think the Wizard School DVD by Andrew Mayne might be ideal for your friend's cause. Nothing really complex and stuff like their broom flight would be nice for 4 year olds and its not difficult to do. Linking rings still requires sleight of hand and their fingers are too tiny  But ken, i like your mirrorbox suggestion ^_^

See the demo vid
here :) The kiddies may like the harry potter theme too, but of course, your teacher friend doesn't have to use that bit of presentation. It's all still pretty cool 'wizard' stuff ;)

My 2 cents...

Oh ya. Forgot that its for 4year old kids. Kept thinking that the kids will be abt 10years of age. <_<
