3. 2 new clues will be released online every 2 days. Simply head back to your previously solved checkpoint to get to the next clue.

Just 1 question, when will the 2 new clues be released? I mean, on like which part of the day? Exactly 12am on the next day? Or random? Thanks..

Ning - November 10, 2006 04:51 AM (GMT)
LOL... thanks Benny ;) I promise that it's gonna be more interesting as the stages progress *grin* Although anyone can start anytime throughout the duration of this online treasure hunt, it'd be good to start early so you'll have a headstart which will be useful when you reach the more challenging bits to come!

Just use your smarts and some creativity, you'll be able to solve the clues!! ;)

As Aloy mentioned in the TLMS advertorial above, the prize is a triple combo of one book (the latest offering from the very famous Buck Twins), a new magic DVD that just came out, as well as, David Blaine's most solid card effect would be the best prize to give our ONE lucky winner in this contest  ...I hope y'all like it! *grin*

GOOD LUCK TO ALL IN THE RACE... Just go to www.TheLittleMagicShop.com to see everyone's on-going progress (as well as yours) and don't forget to keep checking for new clues as mentioned in the game rules :g: If you explore the entire TLMS site, I guarantee it's going to help you ALOT in the next stages happening the next couple of days.

The TLMS Online Treasure Hunt Challenge ends this 19th, but don't wait till then to get started! Do it TODAY!!!!

Aloy - November 10, 2006 08:52 AM (GMT)
  Everyone thinks it's too easy.
I think magicians are generally more curious people and are all quite good with this kinda problem solving. B)

I think it's a very interesting concept this Treasure Hunt. I'd love to take part in it myself but I'm helping Ning with the technical aspect of the competition.
Anyways, this is just the warm up round. Ning has some really weird ideas (some so weird it's technically not possible!) for the next few stages so wait for it.

ThomasLim - November 10, 2006 08:55 AM (GMT)
have been trying to solve since this morning 7am.... just manage to get it now.

MISSION IMPOSSIBLE to finish 10 checkpoints.

Ning, please give something easier.... thats too HARD

btw....Congratulation!

Cheers

Not weird... I'd call them... interesting ideas ;) Heh...

Stay tuned to www.TheLittleMagicShop.com!!!

PS: Thanks Thomas! I'm sure this online game will bring out the Ethan Hunt of Mission Impossible out of you... LOL  All the best for the next few stages!

Ace - November 10, 2006 08:58 AM (GMT)

That exactly echoes my sentiments!
But i'm in all the same!

So much for keeping off the internet during the examination period.. <_<

A.

Aloy - November 10, 2006 09:22 AM (GMT)
Erm...just in case there's any doubts, the Aloysius Chan in the competition is NOT me. :g: In case you all think I'm cheating. :P

I'm not very sure but i think Aloysius Chan is in these forums too?

I'm not in the competition and I'm only responsible for the technical aspect of the treasure hunt. B)

Ning - November 10, 2006 09:35 AM (GMT)
Aloy, I think most people here know that your surname is Yeo and not Chan

Anyways, just to update everyone... I've just been persuaded to extend this competition to our magic friends in MMF as well... so the TLMS Online Treasure Hunt Challenge is now open to anyone in Singapore, Malaysia & even Brunei!!! ^_^

That's all, no further changes :) Do spread the word to your magic friends living in these countries too! The more, the merrier the challenge will be!

timo - November 10, 2006 12:04 PM (GMT)
LOL! We want more clues!

ming - November 10, 2006 12:59 PM (GMT)
haha.. These online treasure hunt things are fun. I remember getting distracted by Bizfantast and the Wicked during my midyear exams.

poping - November 10, 2006 01:47 PM (GMT)
Nice way of promoting your site! Is it that difficult to find the clues or you guys just exaggerating? Haha... Can you state approximately what time the clues come out? Then more fair mah =X

Ning - November 10, 2006 02:09 PM (GMT)
Well, if it's too easy, it wouldn't be a challenge would it? ;) Since magicians are known to be really creative thinkers, I wouldn't insult your intellegence! LOL... Just join the game and you'll find out for yourself if it's really as hard as the others say it is *grin* Keep checking the TLMS site for updates and clues!

Anyways... I'm really glad you guys like this unique online treasure hunt idea for TLMS  It was a bit more complex to execute but definitely much fairer because it's all based on one's own effort and skill, rather than a lucky draw of some sort that is based on chance ^_^

In case you're not aware, to see how you, or everyone else is doing in this race, just visit www.TheLittleMagicShop.com ...Remember, you can start anytime during the duration of this event but it'd be best to get a headstart because the later stages may get a bit more challenging -_-

THANKS FOR YOUR SUPPORT!!!
ning

Wow, great job Ning and Aloy. I have to say that the website is very comprehensive. I was browsing through the website a couple of days ago and I have to say that this is the best local magic dealer site there is. Kudos to you both. Great idea to organise a treasure hunt in such a manner as it truly allow users to browse through the entire website. With such amazing prizes I guess TLMS is playing Santa to us all :D

One question though, I manged to clear stage 1 but my name isn't inside one the list of challengers who cleared stage 1? I found the"X" with the first clue and I was given the 2nd clue. This means that I've cleared stage 1 right? Or are there some more hidden Easter Eggs that I have to hunt to clear stage 1 hehe... Pls help... Thank you so much Santa :P

ming - November 10, 2006 02:58 PM (GMT)
You have to find the second clue to clear the first stage. Each stage consists of two clues.

Ning - November 10, 2006 03:12 PM (GMT)
That's Santa-Rina Claus for you... LOL... Thanks for the sweet compliments Jerome :) That's very kind of you!

Ok, as mentioned in the rules above, there are 2 checkpoints in total to clear per stage. It seems that you've only cleared 1 of 2 for the first stage... once you've completed the 2nd stage, your name will be automatically listed accordingly on TLMS. Kudos to Aloy the professional IT geek for making a super cool program on my webbie ^_^

So in essence... All you have to do right now, is go back to the page where you found the 2nd clue and read the hint. Once you've located the TLMS 'X' icon in the website, click on it and you'll get a message that you've completed Stage 1  That's all to it... you're halfway to completing Stage 1!

Good luck! ;)

chanzian - November 10, 2006 08:18 PM (GMT)
This reminds me of David blaine's book where he hid some $10000 somewhere and left hints in his book. Brillant idea you guys! B)

TayYH89 - November 11, 2006 02:51 AM (GMT)
Hey, I've managed to find the first clue, but it definitely doesn't look like this:
user posted image
Maybe it's because of the different resolution, but don't you think it'll be misleading?

Edit: Ok, after I've changed the font size, it looks like the one in the picture.

csjoshi - November 11, 2006 03:00 AM (GMT)
hey tayYH.

I dont think its misleading unless you created a bot to help you solve the puzzles. (oops) I use firefox on a linux computer and its looks slightly different but perfectly reasonably similar. All the best =)

CSJ

Aloy - November 11, 2006 06:11 AM (GMT)
Erm....just in case anyone is thinking of using a spider bot to crawl out the check points, it will not work pass stage one. B)
Image name will be random generated and out links will be server scripted. ;)

Itachi - November 11, 2006 07:29 AM (GMT)
Wah damn sly eh the web site uses misdirection. All those clicking frantically just give it up la... :P try buying sth for a change if all else fails, maybe the credit card no. entry page has the X.

poping - November 11, 2006 01:10 PM (GMT)
So there isn't an approximate time where the next clues come out? Will it be random or within a range?

W3iRdKiD - November 11, 2006 01:22 PM (GMT)
OH NOO!! I'll be in camp during weekdays! Does that like mean I'm automatically out of the competition without even trying?

funnycow - November 11, 2006 04:27 PM (GMT)
hmmm.. the clue still not release yet? haha.

:)

Aloy - November 11, 2006 04:33 PM (GMT)

Go to bed guys, check again in the morning ;)

Itachi - November 11, 2006 04:45 PM (GMT)
Haizz... still not out...

Aloy - November 11, 2006 05:19 PM (GMT)
BTW, W3iRdKiD, you can always try to come back next weekend and try to catch up in the race. But it's gonna be a tough catch up thou.

But don't complain, I never get to take part in any of the fun stuff either. :D

funnycow - November 12, 2006 04:03 AM (GMT)
ho ho ho... still waiting for 3rd clue...~

Ning - November 12, 2006 04:55 AM (GMT)
Yupz... ^_^ just in case you're wondering...

It doesn't matter if you start late because even if people are at stage 3 or 4 and you just join but are smart enough to solve all the clues, you'd be able to progress quickly within the day. It's just less stress on your part if you have an early headstart that's all :) So don't worry! Just don't start TOO late :P LOL!

The clues for Stage 2 will be released very soon, later today... *grin* I'm glad it seems so many of you are looking forward to it... LOL.

Have fun!!!

Cheers,
ning

Aloy - November 12, 2006 05:46 AM (GMT)
Wah lau! You guys are SCARY!

Within 3 mins of releasing the checkpoint 3 someone has found it!

yong_tianadeline - November 12, 2006 05:55 AM (GMT)
Argh..... I am so slow!!!
Damn damn. I must go and brush up my skills!!! :(

A.

Aloy - November 12, 2006 05:59 AM (GMT)
YOU GUYS ARE INHUMAN!!

10 mins and 4 have solved Stage Two!! :ph43r:

Anyways....
The first to find Checkpoint 3 is Yu Heng Tay. But the first to find Checkpoint 4 is Timothy Hor, which took 3.3 mins to get from Checkpoint 3 to clearing Checkpoint 4.

You are not slow at all Adel, you were the 2nd one to find checkpoint 3. About 2 mins after it was released. B)

Inhuman.
