Title: Deck Switches
Description: need help~!
noob_magicx - November 10, 2006 01:20 AM (GMT)
hey guys.. i've been looking through the topic for the ID and brainwave deck.. and i realised deck switch is a very essential move.. so can anyone tell me where to learn deck switches? i prefer the non-gimmicked ones.. (eg. deck shell) but going for swtiches such as the cold deck switch..
weapons of the card shark had taught some deck swtiches but they need a table.. so is there a streetwise method? thanks in advance~! :P

Misdirection
or
Just keep the deck, and say that how about showing you another trick, take out a normal deck from the same pocket you put the gimmicked deck in. Simply and easy

hahaz.. thanks mun.. but about the placing it back into the pocket, i find it a little weird placing a deck in and taking it out again.. maybe it's just my point of view.. but nevertheless thanks mun~! anyway your performances posted on the forum are great~! ^_^

Daniel Garcia has a very bold and deceiving switch. I'm not sure if I can say the title of that particular DVD, cause that move is part of the effect.
But once you seen that switch, you can applied it to switching almost anything using the same concept.

Well, you don't to worry alot about putting it back in and taking it out again. Once you done with the first effect, you keep it in. Then break on a conversation about the magic you just did. Then you pop out the message, "oh ya, this reminds me, you want to see something more?" And everntually, they will say why not, and then you take out the ungimmicked one and continue.
Because no one will notice you got more than 2 decks with you. Even if they feel you have 2 or more, if they never ask, don't bother to explain why you have.
If they ask, you just say something naturally "oh, because this effect can only be done with this deck of cards, this deck of cards is special" and go on. Try not to give them too much room to think too hard. But concentrate on giving them the directions to follow your thoughts.

woa.. hahaz.. thanks for the replies guys.. daniel garcia? hmmm.. i got his three volumes.. maybe i'll juz look through them again.. thanks mun
hmm.. i guess that's the easiest way.. maybe i'll just do a rubber band routine or something in the middle den.. or maybe i'll just use some super hot lady walking by as a misdirection.. :P den i'll forget to switch the deck myself.. <_< but no matter what thanks guys~!

Hey hey..if you're talking about ID and Brainwave deck, i normally do it as my last trick...and i'll say something like i sleep walk, or had a dream. then jus take out the brainwave and say "i made my prediction in this deck..blah blah.."
i once watched the presentation video of doc mason's bar tricks or something, and that guy practically had a different deck for every trick he did. So blatantly, yet no one questioned him.
also once i was having a drink with a friend and he was showing me tricks, and he would put his deck back into his bag everytime he finishes a trick..go through a couple of drinks..then take out his deck out and do another trick. I don't know if he did a deck switch or not. But he did put his deck back into his bag n take it out again and again. And i never questioned him.

yea.. i guess that shouldn't be much of a problem.. based on what everyone's saying i guess keeping the deck and taking it out again isn't that bad anymore.. ^_^ and about the ID thing? i won't dare to use it too often.. the people i know, they tend to snatch things.. so kinda scary.. hahaz..

yep.. most of the cold swtiches shown are taught.. but i don't think they would work out for street magic though.. anyway the dvd's great and the mucking they did in the video is also taught.. i guess i could dig it out again to learn the false cuts and stuff.. might be useful.. ^_^ anyway thanks for link mun~! the guys in there are awesome~! i will never gamble with strangers ever again, these guys are scary~!
thanks for the replies guys~! didn't expect so many replies in just one day.. :!!:
