wow... so the card, if u do any routine, u need to force that shimmed card first?

Hmm, If you doing a routine that requires that, Ya u need to force the shimmed card.
But you are doing another routine, grandfather's aces, then it is not forced, it serve as a disappearing card.

So it's a random number and shape card ?
i dont wan it to be a 'loud' card like Ace of Spade or King Of Spade,Quee of Hearts.

Scratch head..
Hmm, Think of it as a double faced card, it can be a random number, or specific number that you want.
BUT, its super hard to find card that have the specific number that you want. And from what i know, just the shimmed card wont work. (If you know hows the shimmed card works)

can't you just peel the card and shimmed it?
DIY is always the cheaper alternative.
My ET, BW, Raven, and even my closeup mat are all DIY    (kidding)

Of course you can.
But if you are not the technical person, its hard. Because, you wont know where to find the material for the shimmed card, how to cut it is also a problem, how fine the material is, also a problem.
And how strong the material is, is also a problem.
If its me, yes I can do it, because I know how to find it, and construct it. But I won't do it unless I need to use it for some purpose or routine. I will take the easy way out and using a dark card. Its easier and simple to use. But its no way better than shimmed card.
Shimmed card is way too good but too hard to construct.
So let say it this way, You want a gimmick that even the audience wont know what is it when they touch it, and you want a gimmick that sells the effect strongly, and you want to be as clean as possible after the routine. Shimmed card is the way to go.
But if you are not worried about the audience checking too throughly, I mean really throughly, like inspect each card. And a gimmick that can deliver the same idea, but not as clean as it is. Dark card is the way to go.
Another thing is, dark card can be loaded alone, but shimmed card need another agent to help. :) Cant say more. or else it expose what shimmed card is.. Haha!!
