Well, I have a friend who is left-handed and he fans on his right hand. Though it's not very natural when he does it, it's an okay fan.
I don't know, people are different. If you really feel you can't do it on your right hand, try your left. Maybe it'll work?
You just have to find the spot on the hand.

I'm left handed actually. But I do most card moves with my right and that includes fans.

Hmm.. If you need help with your fans, try using fanning powder. That will help you get used to doing fans.

Also, its good to be ambidextrous when it comes to fans. *hint hint*

Unless you use a 4 sided index card, or else, the index wont appear de. I left handed also.

I still do my fans using my left hand. Hmm, the result doesnt affect me, so i think its really up to individual. By the way, i tried both hand in fanning before, its not hard to master both hands.

I myself is left handed too and i fan on my left hand most of the time. In fact my right handed fans suck but actually it is an advantage being left handed cos when you watch dvds, u can learn much faster as it is mirror image well thats what i think, i do not know about others. Anyway all thiing comes with practice so just practise practise and more practise.

I was advised to learn everything right handed so i did and i would recommend it if u're left handed , makes learning a little easier i reckon

i play guitar right handed too , although i'm left handed ;)

Roland, what you say doesnt apply for me thou, i feel that it is best if you master the hand that you are more comfortable in and not going by a "strict rule" or "advice" to use the right hand cos it is not that much of a trouble to learn left handed-ly.
