Look at the write up on the item:
Reputation as a Mathematical Genius is Secure! B)
Seven wooden strips with random numbers written on both sides are displayed. A volunteer is asked to place any five strips in any order into a wooden frame thus forming five, five-digit numbers.
Instantly reveal the total of these five five-digit numbers, faster than a computer! Over hundred thousand combinations of numbers are possible with the seven strips!
Inspected at ANYTIME! 5.5 x 6.5 Inches! Lacquered Wood! Easy to Do!
and the review make me want this, B)
Excellent Mentalism Effect B)
this trick with a bunch of teenagers and the response was just superb!!!! A very compact effect that is very nicely made.
but ...one said; Cool Principle but Hard to Place in a Show -_-
A magical type puzzle that amused but it would be hard to really place in a show. It's not mentalism or magic - it only presents the magicians ability to add big numbers with computer-like speed (hooray for the braggy magician).
Plus, would slow things down too much in a show. It might work in a math oriented school show but then this version is really too small for such a venue.
The spectator would have to use a calculator to figure their sum or the audience would be put to sleep while waiting.
