Title: Warning! By Daniel Garcia

jeromefang - November 23, 2006 10:28 AM (GMT)
Hi Everyone.

Not sure if this should go under Close-up or Impromptu Magic. Well since DG says its impromptu, I guess here is more applicable :D E has launched the teaser clip for DG's Warning. Check it out

http://www.ellusionist.com/order/Warning-Teaser-Video.php

The effect on the lip is interesting, I suppose its an impression of the spectator's chosen card. Now I know this is Warning which could actually be seen on one of DG's Project DVD. He performed it at a bar I remember.

Kinda cool seeing smoke coming out that without actually smoking haha... Check it out and see what future reviews will say. ;)

Ace - November 23, 2006 04:21 PM (GMT)
Its stated there MUST BE DONE AT YOUR OWN RISK

And this is not impromptu, you need a small gimmick to perform it.

Lefty - November 24, 2006 05:36 AM (GMT)
Hmm.. isit abit early to review to trick now? its not out yet.

Hmm.. actually i think whether if it is impromptu or not depends on individuals, to some magicians, even getting a pack of cards is not consider improumptu, so as long as the audience, does not see you reaching into your bag to take out something, it will look improumptu to them :)

phsycofreak - November 24, 2006 05:51 AM (GMT)
well the effect is NOT found in his project DVD, its found in his Next Notes. i have done this effect a couple of times, and i have this funny feeling in my throat, anyway, this doesnt really make ppl go haywire

ps:i am in india and the comp is really damn freaking slow

In DG's Project DVD, he did not teach the effect Warning or should I say No Smoking. As of now, its only found in his Next Notes. What I meant was that after watching the preview, I realised the effect he did on his lip could also be seen Performed in 1 of the Project DVD. Previously I had no idea what that lip effect was about until I watched the preview of Waring yesterday.

I agree this impromptu concept differs among individuals but most importantly, to the spectator, it looks impromptu. I believe this is the idea among most impromptu effects. Its what the audience sees that matters. ^_^

LarryDK - November 24, 2006 03:53 PM (GMT)
Haha, When i juz saw it, the first thing that comes to my mind. DRY ICE!

BUT PLEASE DON'T TRY IT. CAUSE I MYSELF NEVER TRY IT BEFORE.

One thing is, if its really smoke that comes out from your mouth, it becomes an add on effect to your routine, which can be freaking, or can be funny, depends on what you doing.

But sure its nice, wait to see the price.

P.S DUN EVEN TRY DRY ICE EVEN IF IT CAME TO YOUR MIND LIKE ME, CAUSE ITS TOXIC AND CAN KILL YOU.

AND I AM DEAD SERIOUS ABT IT. :)

Kazekage - November 24, 2006 04:44 PM (GMT)
Its not dry ice.
I learnt this trick from a book before, I cant remember what book though.
Its not really impromptu, in the preview they actually hinted on what the gimmick is indirectly. ^_^
Thats all I'm saying, anything more will lead to major exposure

LOL

I know the method but up till now i don't dare to try it. Maybe i'll try it after my exams.

I played with smoke effects before(Not Warning) and after that i had difficulty in breathing -_-

bigbadwolf - November 25, 2006 10:11 AM (GMT)
haha..Warning is fun.

I've tried it, but you wouldn't want to do it so often (after doing it for a number of times, rest a while)

else overdoing it = sore throat!!! (that's what happened to me)

It looks fun the first time, subsequent attempts lead to me thinking, why am I even spending time on something so lame.

Maybe its not my kind of magic. Those who has DG's NEXT notes, give it a try. It's very easy (those who have the notes, try this: INCREASE the dosage significantly for maximum "highness" and "smokiness")

Lamadude - November 26, 2006 01:33 PM (GMT)
do you think it is more worth it to get warning or next notes?

Adrian

Falcon121 - November 26, 2006 02:43 PM (GMT)
er. dry ice is not toxic. its just frozen CO2.

BUT!!!!! Extreme concentrations can probably kill coz you'll just suffocate in all that co2.

AND! frozen CO2 on bare skin especially tongue and lips etc can cause PAINFUL burns.

Most prob the notes...considering the amount of tricks-to-price ratio.

SG$55 for Warning, trust me...its not worth paying for it. Maybe its just a tad more useful than Kaos.

bryanne - November 27, 2006 09:09 AM (GMT)
Yeah, I guess E are trying to cover up their loss from the 500 decks from the Indecent promotion.

Producing it on DVD at a expensive price is quite a turn off. Christmas season is coming, E has good marketing skills to convince customers that its worth the investment.

But anything from Daniel Garcia and Wayne Houchin is a MUST get, so I see myself purchasing it when it is released. :D

Lamadude - December 1, 2006 06:57 AM (GMT)
anyone know how much next notes cost? any dealer please feel free to give me a price to next notes. anyway, it is 1 dec and warning is not out yet. haha.

Adrian

bigbadwolf - December 1, 2006 10:47 AM (GMT)
When its 1 Dec in Singapore, its only 30 Nov in the States.

So..its not really 1 Dec yet. ^_^

Aloy - December 2, 2006 09:11 PM (GMT)
If this is what I think it is, Ellusionist is just looking for a lawsuit if they release this one. -_-
And looking at the colour of the smoke, it's probably is what I think it is.
It's crazy and I don't think they should ever suggest an "effect" like this to a market that's mostly minors. <_<

I think i get what you are referring to.

There are bound to be minor magicians trying it out, with their must-try attitude. -_-

hihs - December 5, 2006 04:42 AM (GMT)
this, i would say is a very smart idea, very smart indeed.
i would rate it 9/10
there is a small extent of danger included in this trick. according to D.G himself, he said that it is not going to do hurt u unless u are hardcore.

for people under 18, please do it under adult supervision.
for people over 18, please be careful

ThomasLim - December 5, 2006 09:47 AM (GMT)
I tried but without success :(

Dosage double and triple - not working still!!! and worst still.... it hurts and I really feel very uncomfortable...

Really not advisable for kids.... although I think is very COOL.....

but again.....it is so tempting for me to try again with dosage x 10??? as what Bigbadwolf recommends to get maximum "highness" and "smokiness"....

:D

Trix - December 5, 2006 12:23 PM (GMT)
See what i mean. Lol. There are sure to be many others who are also tempted too. Whatever you do, take care of your health! -_-

I bet a newsie report would be out soon about some magician overtrying with mass dosage and damaged his throat or what. Or almost died. <_<

hihs - December 5, 2006 06:10 PM (GMT)
i've been pretty hardcore lately.
it is pretty easy but a very good effect indeed.

now im feeling not very comfortable but managable.

ThomasLim - December 7, 2006 03:04 AM (GMT)
yes... is pretty easy.... but I just can't SMOKE???

I am thinking if is due to the "quality" of my "medicine"? or I really need to increase the dosage ;) it really upset me for not able to get my smoke!!!

rolandlim - December 8, 2006 12:04 AM (GMT)
ok i got the video , i can't believe they're selling this effect

how the hell is breathing S****** safe ???

and anyone studying a bit of human biology in school will know that if ur body releases smoke it means ur body is incapable of cleansing/handling such a substance and irritation as felt by most of u is a clear sign that the body is not made to handle these sorts of substances !!!

ThomasLim - December 8, 2006 01:36 AM (GMT)
wow..... I saw Hihs performing this. He can really produce quite a lot of smoke from only a short b*****. I really jealous ;) :P

Last night, I tried it out again changing the "medicine" brand - FAIL again! And I really choke and start coughing.... until my wife thought that I got flu...

I am thinking if what Roland stated stands, then my body is taking in the "medicine" and thats why I fails..... thats terrible! Start thinking what will happen with those "medicine" in my body :D

Just wondering if there is anyone that could not obtain the smoke too? Or I am the only one :( :( :( :( :(

bigbadwolf - December 8, 2006 04:09 AM (GMT)
Now you guys can try buying a pack of cig and start smoking.

It's,

Impromptu.
Perfect for stage, street and bathroom performances.
Start and end clean.
Lots of smoke.
Lots of possiblities.
Can be performed totally surrounded.
Totally examinable.
You will be a fool to miss this out. (Since you have already tried S******, why not Nicotine as well?)

Age under 18 please seek parental consent and monetary assistance.

ThomasLim - December 8, 2006 10:00 AM (GMT)
A bit boring at work.... so .....

disagree with you that Smoking is impromptu.

Perfect for stage, street and bathroom performances - Not really... as smoking is now ban in quite a lot of places and definitely not in my bathroom :)

Start and end clean - It might start clean but definitely end with lot of ashes, if care not taken - it is very messy in the end :)

Lots of smoke - no doubt, and you will get complain if too much. So... for this "trick", try to reduce your smoke to get best effect :)

Lots of possiblities - cancer is one of them  :)

Can be performed totally surrounded - Yes, very true, but I doubt there will be anybody around when you perform :)

Totally examinable - Not by police for those under 18 :)

You will be a fool to miss this out. (Since you have already tried S******, why not Nicotine as well?) - If we could prove that S****** kills, we might probably able to sue E******** or whoever. But it is proven that Nicotine can kill, and yet we cant do anything :)

Age under 18 please seek parental consent and monetary assistance - I am sorry to say that age under 18 could not perform this trick :)

Most importantly.... it is bad to encourage Smoking :D

cheers!

PS: do you have one to spare? Mine is running out

bigbadwolf - December 8, 2006 02:02 PM (GMT)
I didn't expect someone to actually reply my post.

FireBurns - March 10, 2007 11:59 AM (GMT)
Warning has not harmed me in any way.
Like the DVD say, you'll get used to it. Especially if you use the method taught.
Also LOTS of smoke from just ONE gimmick.
No joking, just smoke pouring and pouring
And I'm below 18, but what the heck, i know that this isn't as bad as eating a McDonalds for Breakfast, Lunch or Dinner.

As a Health Science person, Everyone, please take care of your health.

Its really nothing. I use it for fun, sometimes to "get a laugh" magic effect. Haven't encountered any problems as of yet.
Too bad its been taken off the site.

Broderick - March 10, 2007 02:39 PM (GMT)
Ermm.. Actually i got hook on warning for a week or so. Used up 5box per day. Believe it or not, i also got cough :( :(

FireBurns - March 11, 2007 04:47 AM (GMT)
^_^ Keyword is "Hooked"

Honestly, i also found it really fun to do. But i knew everything has a limit.
Even drinking plain water.

llamalamer - March 15, 2007 05:34 AM (GMT)
I have "smoked" lots of this "gimmick" and I still feel fine.

It's a cool thing. I used it when the gimmick is available and got lots of reactions with it.

Too bad they stopped selling it.

*Good things should go underground*

joeltay81 - March 17, 2007 07:14 AM (GMT)
I didn't buy this, but I roughly know what causes the smoke. Pity that ellusionist stop selling it.

For those that have both warning and UltraSmoke2000, could you give a review comparing both? What are the pros and cons of both in relation to each other? (Besides price and set up)

Which one gets bigger reactions?

TheSilentillusionist - April 30, 2007 03:31 PM (GMT)
I heard that its harmful too. But I have done it a lot of times and I still feel fine as ever. I'm not if anything will happen in the future if I do this effect too much. Anyways, its a nice effect. Buy it at your own risk though. Hmm, anybody got any idea why ellusionist has stopped selling it?

Broderick - April 30, 2007 03:55 PM (GMT)
*cough cough

what do you think i got cough and flu whenever i do it maybe it is just me.
BUT it is not my cousin also got cough!

Good by harmful(to me)

7/10

sheeke - April 30, 2007 05:51 PM (GMT)
Those who got ashma or breathing problems please do not try this.

I had a friend who just started magic and he bought the dvd when it was released. And being hooked to the reactions this effect gave, he practiced it daily.

However he had childhood ashma which was brought back into his life 11 years after he fully recovered.
Thus bitter pills, troublesome inhalents have to start all over again.
And regular checkups , the cycle starts again.

So be carefull! If you dont feel good stop! Have a breathing problem past? Dont even think about it!

Like you said, there's a risk involved. I heard that shortly after the sale of Warning, Ellusionist got alot of calls from concerned parents, buyers about how Warning was very dangerous and that it was causing health problems for them. As Ellusionist wanted to maintain a clean image, it pulled it off the shelves. In fact, after that, they also shelved another project that involved fire and decided not to release it as it could be harmful.

Warning is definitely not suitable for people with respiratory problems, asthma, etc. And I think the smoke itself is more irritable and harmful than cigarette smoke because of certain elements present within it.

Ace - May 1, 2007 08:31 AM (GMT)
This trick is not for me -_- Dun wanna risk my health.

timo - May 1, 2007 02:20 PM (GMT)
I simply love performing warning. especially when i do the pipe version

sheeke - May 1, 2007 06:04 PM (GMT)
Just a reminder, one will never know when ashma will strike non will one know when a misfortunate thing will happen to them.

For me ill just play safe and not risk anything, i just love living too much haha.

So its really at your own risk!
