Why don't you show us a preview of your idea first? Maybe it will be easier to comment. Just show the effect, not asking to reveal the secret.
Just a suggestion.

Before you want to market it, you should probably send it to some experienced and respectable magicians to see if they are original.
If they are original, there are many dealers you can try. Murphy's is one of them.
If you think you have something that is original but do not want to market, you can try contributing it to magazines such as M.U.M, Linking Ring, Genni or Magic magazine.

Can help name a few of those magicians? And i think ellusionist will also verify if the effect is original.

When you have a good idea, fine tune it yourself first, then perform it to some laymen whom you trust can give you feedback. Performing it to magicians work too, but most of the time, magicians themselves would probably either have predicted the ending or would know how it works. I always a group of friends I trust most to watch my new effects and see if it's okay in presentation, effect etc. They will tell me whether the secret is too obvious, or there's no meaning behind the effect, or it's not trained yet etc.
Once you believe your good idea has materialised into a solid effect with presentation and practise, you may wish to perform it regularly. Knowing in your heart that you just amazed audiences with something you came up with is your own reward.
Of course, if you wish to market it... ensure that it is ORIGINAL. That means a lot of research, a lot of asking around respectable, knowledgable magicians and a lot of disappointments. :)
