ren8585 - November 24, 2004 04:26 PM (GMT)
with a little help of some glue ;)
BuaYa - November 25, 2004 03:03 AM (GMT)
Glue... Well... That'd work too. But the way that is taught in Bobo's doesn't use glue...
zinally - December 11, 2004 02:22 AM (GMT)
The best read Bobo's coin magic book
Nicholas - December 12, 2004 04:59 PM (GMT)

kxxcheng - January 29, 2005 04:09 AM (GMT)
I like coin
walk (performed really well) and
butterfly, scroll down. Not performed so well, but the tutorial is good.
Winder - January 29, 2005 05:11 AM (GMT)
2 Coin Walk and 3 Coin Walk is nice, but i can only do Walk up and Down, Pendulum and Staircase.
Maybe with a little practice, i can try doing 2 Coin walk. Hahaha ~
[Ling] - January 29, 2005 05:52 AM (GMT)
Hmm Coin walk is cool, although it's been a long time since I've practised it.

WOW !!.. u seems to be darn skiled wif the coin roll thingy....
Btw are u singaporean ?
i've seen u at the D&D forums---> location:US
jus a lil curious..
[Ling] - January 29, 2005 03:11 PM (GMT)
AW sh*t, i tried Butterfly and I couldn't get it. But hey, i can manage a Staircase Coin Walk! haha, just to console myself abit... :P
kxxcheng - January 29, 2005 11:56 PM (GMT)
Heh that's not me doing coin walk. I can't get it quite as smooth, but almost there. And I'm no good at three coin walk either.
My friend and I posted up our video in the introductions thread (An Introduction), and I do the butterfly flourish in it. It's my favourite chip trick, aside from muscle pass... which I cannot do.
And I'm from the US.
[Ling] - January 30, 2005 06:41 AM (GMT)
Hey Karen, I think we should really meet up or something, since I'm also a flourisher. I've longed for a female flourisher to manifest in this forums for eons. That's you! Yeah.
Hehe, muscle pass, I can manage that a few inches once in a blue moon.
Chill, Karen!

yeah it's taken me ages to get butterfly down. my pinkies are sort of abnormally short but i manage about half the time now with chips. the hardest part is getting from between ring and pinky to ring and middle right? just keep trying...
i definitely agree coin walk is one of the coolest looking, but it's pretty hard to get down really smooth. i also like to do chip twirl. it's not overly hard but it's kinda fun to keep doing several times in a row.
neo23 - March 5, 2005 01:37 PM (GMT)
uber lot of coin flourishes in Constatine.. heh :P
Winder - March 5, 2005 01:42 PM (GMT)
still remember when i first learn the coin roll, was so happy when i could do it repeatedly. It's a good coin flourish to master, when you are bored, simply take a coin and just do it.

Yeah, I was doing coin roll during most of the school assemblies, until to a point that I don't even know I'm doing it. Geesh! Coin roll is tested-and-proven way to kill boredom during school assemblies and a good attention seeker. The people around you will just stare at that coin and keep staring.
Yeah, that coin roll in Constantine. My friends saw that, and immediately said, "Magic! Ling Xuan!' Then look at me. I was like, 'What?!'

Lolx... constantine promotes coin flourishes!!! haha.. ok coin rolling is fun.. can do anywhere anytime... Looks quite cool too, with the coin rolling over ur fingers and stuff..
bean - March 13, 2005 09:21 AM (GMT)
coin roll is nice but theres a little problem wif my little finger that i cant press the coin down and if i succeed my thump failed to catch the coin..........and the coin go rolling on the floor :P
srysry - March 13, 2005 04:19 PM (GMT)
lol. Most of my frens does the coin roll too when they doesnt even noe wat it realli is ^_^ ..true it realli kills boredom.
Barney - March 13, 2005 05:01 PM (GMT)
For those who can do the roll successfully, what's your preferred coin? SG 50cents? or SG $1? I use Phillipino 1Peso. Fits like a glove..
Btw, i feel the real challenge is when u do the coin roll with two hands, then later progressing to passing one coin frm one hand to the other. Looks cool too.. ^_^
Anyone can give tips on how to do the reverse coin roll, making the coin go back to the index finger and then go forth and back and forth etc.? B)
[Ling] - March 14, 2005 07:40 AM (GMT)
I use the American Half. Big and sturdy.
bean - March 14, 2005 11:22 AM (GMT)
xdtjpx - March 30, 2005 04:59 AM (GMT)
i use the soch and soda one..i dunno if its half or quater..lol
kxxcheng - March 30, 2005 06:56 AM (GMT)
I use a US nickel. It's a pretty tiny coin, a lot smaller than a US quarter, but it goes pretty fast when I use it. Good weight for its size too.
Actually it should be easier to learn to go back (going back and forth is called pendulum I believe) because, if you strum your fingers, it is more natural to tap from pinky to thumb versus thumb to pinky. Same concept with coin roll.
Defile - April 19, 2005 12:25 PM (GMT)
I started from SG 50 cents then went on to $1, 20 cents and now at 10cents.. haha
R_jayz - April 21, 2005 08:45 AM (GMT)
i like to do with 50 cents, althoguh 10 cents are still no prob(but abit awkward).
Whoa, you guys seem to know a lot about coin flourishes.. i only know coin roll

Don't worry. You're not alone. Me too. :g:
I think that it's impressive enough to laymen, if you can do it fast, and with both hands (which is the furthest point of coin flourishes that i can think of/ figure out on my own).
Anyway, anyone tried doing Hybrid Flourishing? This means cutting cards, spinning pens AND rolling coins in a marathonic way, doing 2 of the above mentinoned at any point of time, and interchanging periodically, such that both hands accomplish all 3 kinds of flourishes.
Sounds really challenging, ya? :)
bean - April 22, 2005 08:54 AM (GMT)
i can do all 3 serparately but at the same time i think i will drop the pen coin and cards :P

I have tried this once.
Letfy doing one handed cuts. Righty doing coin roll. Rather fun, but to do it fast, it's hard.
Blackwing - May 4, 2005 09:41 AM (GMT)
I prefer to stick to doing one flourish at a time. When I do a coin roll and a one hand cut together, it feels weird. Oh and does anyone know where i can get more US half dollars? I tried money changers but they don't have coins.
lllusion112 - May 12, 2005 05:46 AM (GMT)
i thnk u shld try frm magic castle. tht time he sells half dollars, bt it's quite ex. im nt sure whether he's still selling. maybe u shld try checking it out.

I m having problem...
1) Whenever i try to do a coin roll, the problem is when i have to use my pinky to pull down the coin, the coin will either drop or the ongoing effect does not looks smooth..... any suggestions??
2) The transfer of the coin ,held between the ring finger and the pinky, to the thumb. i try to balance it on my thumb and get back to the starting position. Kinda difficult... anyone does itn a different way??

there's a way to solve your problem....
PRACTICE, PRACTICE, PRACTICE.
I used to have a similar problem...but after a few weeks of practising, i finally got it down...
