HarapanOng - April 25, 2005 12:54 PM (GMT)
maybe try brian tudor? Showoff with Cards (heard it wasnt that great), Heckler and probably the releasing Generation eXtreme. Go penguinmagic.com to watch the demo for generation extreme. it is simply in my opinion BIAN TAI.

Pan^3,

"Manipulations" aren't flourishes, which is what Brian Tudor does. He does flourishes, some call it "XCM". Standard Card Manipulations is something like card productions and vanishes, and other stuff like that. Flourishes are a whole different issue.

Hmm... How come flourishes are known as extreme card manipulation when they aren't card manipulation?

Flourishes are not known as Extreme Card Manipulation.

Flourishes are things that brian tudor/bucks/caps do.

Extreme Card Manipulation is wad De'vo does over at superhandz.com

That term came up when De'vo felt that flourishes was in relation with magic. So he decided to come up with a term that would mean hardcore manipulations with NO relations to magic whatsoever.

Its up to you which road you want to take. To me, all means the same thing.

lllusion112 - May 16, 2005 03:01 PM (GMT)
huh? im confused retsevlys

Sehnsucht - May 22, 2005 02:11 AM (GMT)
sybils are flourish?

Blackwing - May 22, 2005 02:41 AM (GMT)
Huh? Its becoming alot more complicated. Heck, to me Devo's/Tudors/DnD/Caps stuff are all flourishes. Doesn't matter whether there's such a thing as XCM or not. As long as I can do it, I consider it a flourish. And yes, to me a sybil is a flourish.

zomaziz - March 11, 2006 12:42 PM (GMT)
sorry to post onto this really old thread, but i guess what i wanna ask falls under here.. so..

anyway, where can i find manipulations for sticks? or long objects. and round objects.. like snooker balls or something.

ok, basically balls and sticks, like those used in percussion (drums..)
and..
(yeah yeah, i saw it on mondo magic) :P

are there any dvds for this? or is it taught anywhere..? really interested. thx

jemarcus - April 6, 2006 06:30 AM (GMT)
zomaziz, maybe you can buy some videos on contact juggling?

or download the pen spinning videos for your "stickworks".

IMO, drumsticks much easier than pen cuz its longer. so easier to find the center of gravity.

balls, get cardini to teach you. sorry for the poor sense of humor. haha.

correct me if i'm wrong, isn't jeff mcbride cardini's student? maybe u can check his videos out.

------------------------------------------------

IMO, flourishes are manipulations you use in performing magic, i.e putting a card into a fan and it goes on top. the flourish used is a fan. << is this an exposure?

used with magic to create the wow factor.

XCM would be card stunts like displays, aerial moves, perches.
its more of a showcase of skills.

then again, its all my opinions.
