Title: Is This Original?

csjoshi - December 14, 2006 08:41 AM (GMT)
hey guys,

I was messing around with my deck when this idea struck me...

Image handing out a deck to be shuffled and examined. The deck is then replaced into a box and you can have the spec name a card (or cook up an ID like story). You then spread the face up deck to locate the named card. Then proceed to spread the deck face down to show only one red card in the deck, You turn the card over to reveal the named card. You hand it out to the spec then spread the deck (both face up and down) to show that the rest of the deck is entirely blue to confirm the selections to be the only red card.

Then you turn over their selection to reveal that it is just another blue card and nail them =)

I am however, not sure how original the effect is. Any comments?

   I am confuse.... don't really understand.

Are you talking about BrainWave deck?

:)

Your idea is cool, but I do not really think it is original. The effect is similar to something that I have seen before, but I can't remember what it is now.

I think his effect is a BrainWave + the spec can shuffle and examine the deck + a kicker ending

I think Kenton Knepper has a similar effect. Kameloeon deck or something along that line...I cannot remember.

Doc Eason also has one on his Bar Magic series, but its the faces that are the same not the backs.

But csjoshi, if u can upload a performance of your effect it will be easier to understand.

No, Its not necessary to be a brainwave. Looking at what he wanted, or what he created. It can be done using a normal deck with a setup. Hmm, if i not wrong, the method that I thought of for his routine can also involve geniue shuffles while brainwave cannot.

But, original wise, maybe not. But if you are not thinking that you want to market it, then it will be a nice routine for yourself. :)

hey guys.

Thanks for your response. I'm going off to be a man (like other 18 r olds) So I wont get time to upload a video anytime soon. But I definitely will. I guess, with proper development and permission, I may be allowed to market it considering that Houchin marketed Stigmata.

The effect is similar to brainwave but not the same because the card is not overturned. This method is easy to clean up as well so you can apply it to a normal deck.
