Its the one by Masuda ya?

I've seen that watch by him, kinda old fashioned and personally I don't think its worth.

bigbadwolf - December 24, 2006 03:51 PM (GMT)

You know when you first come up the escalator from the mrt? Walk to the centre of the area and u can find a display cabinet made out of glass, inside it you can find alot of watches and one of them is the new casio watch. If you still cannot find it, try looking around Carl's .jr , its somewhere near there. Hope that helps!

Opposite Carl's Jr and beside the Samsung hp shop. If cannot find Samsung, spot the pretty ladies in black polo tees :P

The watch has got a nice retro look to it... do they have it in ladies size? If they do, then I'd bother to head down to check it out. But it's really quite pricey... US$80+++ for a Casio!!!

voodoolong - December 26, 2006 06:09 AM (GMT)
Lol.. Black polo T girls. Btw. i don think it will be ladies size. and 80 dollars is quite pricey. When i have time will go down and take a look.Thx... :)

Ning - December 26, 2006 06:41 AM (GMT)
Yup, and bear in mind it's US$80 not S$80 *faint* But I guess, you'd be one of the few ppl who will have it f you're not detered by the price. I guess it's quite a decent price la... since it is a very reputable brand, plus it's an exclusive/ special edition thing  Do a review on the forums when you've got it ok? *grin*

Someone's birthday is coming up (hint: someone special is hitting the BIG 3-0 soon!!!) and I guess those of you who want a review on this can ask him to post one after tomorrow  But I guess, if he doesn't like his present, you guys can probably buy it from him later through the SMC marketplace :ph43r: Heh...

And now......the review you have been waiting for.... B)

The watch design actually looks better in real life than in the pictures, and the minimalistic design really grows on you after a while. The watch features are pretty standard, alarm, stopwatch, alarms, date, etc. It is surprisingly heavy and sturdy for a watch this size, and feels like it's made to last a long time.
But I'm sure everyone is more interested in the magic tricks than the watch review.
I've had a chance to play with the 5 effects that come with the watch for about a week now. And the watch comes with a manual to describe the effects in detail. To be honest, I was hoping for a Time Machine effect built in (since it's a famous watch/time effect) but that wasn't there. And not all 5 effects were equally good but the 3 good ones I feel totally make up for it. All 5 has pretty strong secrets in my opinion, and the watch can be handed over to and spec and they can examine it for hours or even days and they will never figure how it is done. Except for 1 "self working" effect, the rest has really strong secrets.
3 of the effects I like more because they allow more flexibility and impromptu presentation.
Although all the effects come with their own presentation plan, the great part is it is easy to incoprate the effects in the watch in some really funky effects. Like I was at dinner one night and I just turned over 6 saucers and used them to an impromptu effect immediately with the watch. It's like having a deck of cards or a couple of coins on you. Except this is more "structured" and different from the regular little tricks.
And with a little creativity and knowledge of other magic principles, i think the watch can used for some shocking effects. I've got some ideas which I'm dying to try out so come for the next gathering if you wanna see the watch do some stuff.

And most importantly for me, the watch was a very special birthday present from you-know-who  to me B) so it's really priceless to me and I think it's the best thing in the world.

Since when you 2 are broke back buddies. LOL.

The watch sounds cool, but its way too expensive. Maybe not for the you know who. :P
