Moondust - November 26, 2004 04:26 PM (GMT)
Please buy for me for PS2. And if Gran Turismo 4 is out, get that for me too. Let me know how much it is before you buy. If I can get it substantially cheaper, I'll get it myself.

Yes, NOS is illegal. Yes, speeding is an offence punishable by the law...that's what makes it so appealing!

Btw, someone whom you know will be NOSing his car next month. When it's done, we'll bring you out for a spin. You'll realise soon enough why it's so addictive :D

Xtreme - November 27, 2004 02:55 AM (GMT)
yeah. rmber to bring mi fr a spin :)

exohordon - November 27, 2004 03:50 AM (GMT)
How much does it cost to install NOS?

Moondust - November 27, 2004 09:14 AM (GMT)
It depends on which system you wanna upgrade to. The basic system should cost you around SG$1,000.00. Best thing is, you can dismantle it and use it on your next car if you want, which is not really possible with turbo or supercharger kits. Setting up is a breeze. Only about 2-3 hours for installation and half an hour for removal. The bottle can be hidden in various ingenious techniques, one of them being inserting the bottle in a bass tube...and the tube can still pump out bass!

People have a misconception about NOS. Lots of them think that it's flammable, and also it'll blow your engine. Let me clear these up:

NOS is only flammable if it mixes with fuel. Nitrous itself is an inert gas. Fuel itself is flammable in the first place, so if you dare to pump petrol into your car, there's no reason why you don't dare to install NOS just because it's "flammable."

NOS will definitely cause higher wear and tear in your engine, but so will any other performance enhancing modification. But if you stick to the manufacturer's recommendations and install it properly, NOS is perfectly safe. Depending on what car you drive, but for a normal saloon car with a normal engine, pushing an additional 55BHP isn't a problem at all (for e.g. if you're driving a 1.5L Nissan Sunny, you'll get as much horsepower as a healthy Civic VTEC, and lots more torque!) I know of someone who installed NOS in a 1.3L Honda Fit. He pumped in a 75BHP shot. That guy is a maniac and he uses his nitrous any chance he gets. Such prolonged and extreme usage didn't even damage his engine. In fact, the only thing he damaged so far were a couple of spark plugs when he overdid it.

There are extremely detailed technical specs that I can provide you with which is too long to post in here, but if you wanna know more, pls call me at HP: 9765 9000.

ya what u said is correct.... but the disadvantge is ppl usually 'open' NOS when on the top speed... cos it pushes your car more to the limit...so i think your friend's won't have much chances of using in singapore... hmmm.. go malaysia ba...

hmmm...FTO good but normal car... 2000cc engine with mivec but no v6... malaysia spec got v6 in it...

Moondust - December 7, 2004 12:11 PM (GMT)
Dear Hong,

drivers do not necessarily activate NOS at top speeds. NOS is good for REACHING your top speed. Furthermore, it's not conducive to pump in nitrous at high engine loads...wear and tear are much evident if that's the case.

All Singapore delivered Mitsubishi FTOs are the GPX model with V6 MIVEC sporting 200PS and 200NM of horsepower and torque respectively. Mitsubishi did not release a 2000cc non-V6 MIVEC engine.

Hope this can clarify your info.

hong - December 8, 2004 01:45 AM (GMT)
my friend dust...hmmm... but i saw one of the FTO don have v6 engine...and ya. i know the best way to use the NOS is when u reach the top speed... you n i havethe same interest.... ;)
