Chaos 2 by Mark Elsdon
In 1992 Mark devised the original 'Chaos & Order' triumph routine, based on a self-shuffling deck idea that was shown to him by a Chinese magician when he was living out in Hong Kong. A little while later Michael Weber suggested the actual 'Chaos and Order' patter theme, which was incorporated immediately. For a decade Mark performed the routine to a great effect, in all kinds of working environments. Recently, several possible improvements occurred, including a way to increase the number of selections and make the selection process a lot cleaner. One thing led to another… This new version is a substantial improvement on the original and the assimilation of the "Chaos Machine" into the card case is, we think, the finishing touch.

Effect

Two spectators each select a card which they hold onto. The deck is cut in half and placed face-to-face. The deck is temporarily placed in the "Chaos Machine" (otherwise known as the card case). The 'CHAOS' button is pressed... and the deck is immediately removed and spread to show that all 52 cards are now interlaced face-up and face-down, in a truly chaotic state. Both sides of the deck are shown to be in this condition. The spectators' cards are replaced into the chaotic deck, one face up and one facedown. The deck is once again placed into the "Chaos Machine" and this time the 'ORDER' button is pressed. The deck is cleanly tipped out of the case and spread to show that every single card is face-up except for two - the selections.

EXTREMELY EASY TO DO! ALMOST INSTANTANEOUS RESET! NO SLEIGHT OF HAND REQUIRED! MAY BE PERFORMED WALKAROUND OR AT TABLES!

Comes complete with gimmicked Bicycle deck, 'button' stickers and instructions.

Chaos 2 by Mark Elsdon

The premise of Chaos 2 is that cards are magically mixed up (face up/ face down) and then magically brought back to order (all face up). In the process, two selected cards are found by being the only two face down cards in the deck. It is an interesting effect to consider, and this interesting gimmicked deck does all the work for you.

Some of you may know that the scientific Chaos theory is really about finding the underlying order in apparently random data... this was first experimented by reknown meteorologist, Edward Lorenz. This might be an excellent presentation premise for this routine if it suits your performance style :)

The presentation itself for the original effect is rather novel but I'm sure creative individuals may come up with other/ better routines using this gaff deck. The simple but well-thought gimmicked deck has potential for other effects, like a very visual Triumph-style effect  So again, one shouldn't just limit themselves to just the 'sole' marketed effect.

Obviously, this gimmicked deck (in Bicycle stock, should you be wondering) cannot be examined although everything looks very clean, thus there should be no reason for anyone to suspect the deck ;) Overall, this would be great for those who want a strong impactful card effect without having to fuss or worry about ANY sleight of hand. All in all, it's a very interesting close up/ walkaround effect worth considering!

Cheers,
Ning ^_^
