Title: New Year Games 07
Description: Check out MagicBabe's Winnings!
Shade - January 2, 2007 05:38 AM (GMT)
New Year's Day. We met up for dinner and retired to my place for almost 6 hours of non-stop action!
It was dealer's choice and as the cards were rotated between players who took turns to deal, we played Stud Poker, Texas Holdem, Blackjack Casino Style, Blackjack Local Style, Dice, games we made up on the spot, Indian Poker, Weird games whoose names I can't even pronounce... It was truly an engaging and exciting night/morning!
Check out some photos here:
New Year's Day Games 072 photos have nothing to do with the games. Just thought it would be cute to include them. HAHAHA.

PS: Aloy does a good impression of a cooked lobster.

LOL... that was really awesome!! It's one of the BEST sessions I've for a long time! Shade, thanks for making all that happen... it was really FUN being the official barmaid last night/ this morning, mixing all those 'punishment' drinks for the guys! The only kind of poker we didn't play was strip poker... though so many times there were suggestions to
Love the quirky photos by the way... LOL... My favorite is the one with me and my huge horde of chips... before it all entered the system of the 're-distribution of wealth'!!! :!!:
Ning ^_^
PS: Moral of the story - never play chips for cash at the cardshark's den! You'll NEVER be able to leave his house with a shirt on your back :ph43r: :ph43r: :ph43r:

Many thanks to Shade once again for having us over! :D The games were great fun, especially the weird ones that were thought up on the spot and purely based on luck and chance. Indian Poker certainly brought lots of laughter round the table.
Everyone was a big winner at some point of time during the session, and the notable ones were Shade, Ning and Joel.
My favourite photo is of course the one with me 'blushing' and Ning pointing out how red I was. I 'blushed' so hard you could even see the veins on my forehead.

Wuahahahaha... tell me about it  I'm absolutely pale in comparison compared to you *grin* Everyone's a good sport anyway, we finished the entire bottle of vodka within an hour I think... before we did the martell-green tea mix :P Wanna do another round come this CNY? Hee.... :g: :g: :g:

Thanks Shade for hosting the new year games at your place last night. I have to say I enjoyed myself throughly. Apologies for being late for dinner yesterday night :P
We had a great dinner at Fish & Co, although I have to say I ate almost some portions of everyone's food  After dinner, we headed straight to Shade's place for non-stop card and dice games. Indeed we played international games, local games and even impromptu games that we can come up with. I got to learn Draw Poker and Stud Poker from our Cardshark :D
Looking at the pictures, it was really fun. Adrian and his lobster look and not forgetting that menacing vein on his forehead. Aloy at one time was really blushed too. Boy did our Aloy drink a lot. Not only did he have to drink for himself, he had to drink for our Magicbabe too. Haha...poor Aloy. Hey Sahde, when was my photo snapped and I did not know?
All in all, we all had an enjoyable experience and I look forward to our next gathering at the Micro-convention. Oh yes, I must mention this. Axl, remember next time there is no such thing as "Zi Mo" Ok haha...
Happy New Year to One and All.

What a great start for 2007!
Firstly, I like to thank Shade for ending 2006 with such a wonderful and informative session at Delifrance on the 31st of December and also for welcoming us to his place for such a wonderful time of cards and gambling. But thankfully, it was only drinks and no money was involved.
Aloy and Ning for turning up with more booze and since Ning was doing all the hard work at mixing the drinks and all Aloy had to do was to drink! *tsk tsk* Hahaha!
Adrian for firstly performing for us his linking rings routine at Fish and Co (Novena Square). And even more for drinking at Shade's place. (if not we probably need to drink more! - Ha!)
Kevin for taking time off his busy schedule to join us for dinner as well as joining us at Shade's place. His initiative for getting the twisties and other chips were totally appreciated.
Jerome for coming late for dinner! Not that I'm blaming him, but if he wasn't late, we wouldn't have seen Adrian's linking rings! Haha! His love for gambling with clay chips would definitely get stronger and stronger at the rate he is practicing to faro the chips  ! And there are some peeps out there still trying to faro cards?!
Axl for the funniest moment of the nite with his "Self-touch". Unfortunately, we were not playing Mahjong! Perhaps next time when we are playing Mahjong, than you will "self-touch "
And finally, last but not least our very own "CAB" - Joel who was nothing less than extremely lucky as well as a very good player in terms of cards and dice! Oh, not forgetting his tolerance level for alcohol!
All in all, it was a beautiful and definitely nothing short of fun and excitment! Definitely one hell of a way to kick start the new year!
Cheers!
I would also like to wish one and all a very Happy and Wonderful 2007!

P.S. Think this is the only post that I actually wrote so much! Sorry if it is a bore!

Well, I am a supporter of Chinese traditional arts, you see. And mahjong happens to be a game with long rich history in China. I am just doing my part to preserve some traditions. Hehe..

Thanks Shade for opening up his place to us B)
All the details of the night has been described by all those that has a better retained memory of them.
It was a lot of fun and lots of strange ideas for drinking games. My luck was really bad that night and I ended up drinking more than I really should. And it doesn't help that I have to drink Ning's share as well... -_-
We should do this again someday..... B)

It's been a super fun time! But I must say, the highlight of this thread is Gordon's post - it's the LONGEST he's ever posted on record! LOL
We'll surely have another session soon! Chinese New Year sounds like the right time for the next one... :)
Meantime, maybe we can organise another gathering for everyone at Delifrance (*hint* JEROME *hint*).
But for now, see you all at the BIGGEST MICRO CONVENTION EVER! :g:
