Title: Fanning

Xiphoid - November 27, 2004 10:20 AM (GMT)
Just started to learn how to fan, got a qn to ask what's the key to an evenly spread fan ?
Issit the pressure or issit the speed in which u spread the cards ?

Moondust - November 27, 2004 11:54 AM (GMT)
Good question. That's what I wanna learn too...a good pressure fan. My thumb fan's ok but my pressure fan looks more like a twisted slug...

This depends on the pressure that you hold on to the cards in your left hand. Ning also wanted to learn to do the fan too :P . When i held the cards in my hand and she spread them with her right.. the fan came out alright! So your left hand does a lot of work!

To get the pressure right requires constant practice. Just keep fanning and it will take shape soon. The cards should also be held nearer the bottom edge as it will give the fan a nicer shape.

Sometimes the age and quality of the cards also come into play.. a few springs and faros should help to prepare an older deck for fanning.

Its a knacky move, but its completely worth the practice!

Im not skilled enough to comment on a pressure fan.. so.. someone out there.. help!

Mystical2004 - November 28, 2004 03:59 AM (GMT)

Pseudo - January 6, 2005 03:27 PM (GMT)
Yeah!!! The "fanning for dummies" deck is a deck which can be fanned easily... Not much skills required...

I thought it will be better to give the proper credits to the correct person for this deck. Without them, this deck ain't possible...

Cynwell - The guys who share this idea to some of us... and I went to implement this deck... the deck is great and I brought out to let some of the guys to try it..

And according to cynwell... its Jeremy who taught him how to do it...

So... yeah... this is how the deck comes about... ^_^
