I was doing some spring cleaning in my room, and came across some items I feel I no longer need. In fact, you don't really need them either, but hey- who needs a bunch of differently-colored tempered paper bills with some old president's face on it? I'm willing to take those cumbersome, space-wasting pieces of pre-tissue off of your hands, and even give you some of these items in return.
So without further ado (where the hell else do you hear that word, anyway?), here are some of the things I'm selling.
Robert E. Neale - Tricks of the Imagination. $25.32 (Hardcover Book)In this dust jacket-less 198-page tome of Bob Neale's, just about two dozen magicial story-telling premises, complete with suiting effects, are described and taught in detail. If you've seen Eugene 'beard of death' Burger's 'Magical Voyages' series, you'll have heard tell of Bob's influence.
Lee Asher - Losing Control. $12.18 (CD, Mac & Windows Compatible) [SOLD!]Cards spread. Card touched. Card shown. Spread closed. Card on top. One of the easiest deceptive middle-to-top card controls here, taught by Lee Asher himself in accordance with an amusing storyline, complete with other applications and handlings to boot.
Kenton Knepper - Secrets of Indirection. $26.74 (Staple-bound booklet)The first book of Knepper's to not have a big K in the title! WOOHOO!! All Kidding aside, in this 2004 offering Knepper disKusses the long lost seKrets of indireKtion, a way of approaching magiK that enhances effeKts and maKes them have more impaKt on your speKtators. 52 pages short, with both theory and appliKations galore.
Calostro - Entertaining With Hypnotism. $7.24 (Staple-bound booklet)
Ed Wolff - Practical Hypnotism. $6.76 (ditto)
OR
Both for $13.29What can I say. I tried, and although hypnotism continues to be a fascination to me, I haven't got the balls to pull it off. Perhaps buying these will educate you where I have failed, since they are very good how-to's, each discussing first what hypnotism is and isn't, then going into the theory behind it, and then teaching you how to do tests, light and full-blown inductions, and finally, routines. 32 pages each.
Richard Ignatius Bartholomew Gingrich Horatio Dawn Duskin Sanders - Close Up Assassin. $30.71 (Staple-bound booklet with VHS companion tape)I'm might have messed up the spelling on that middle name, but hey- everyone just calls him Richard Sanders anyway. I bought this while I was down at Hollywood Magic in California last summer, and it was a good watch- vintage Sanders material taught in classic Sanders fashion. Effects include vanishing a signed bill and having it appear in a Sharpie cap or a Lemon or in a pack of gum, a great, clean-as-my-dinner-plate coins across into a spectator's hand, his famous Double Bill Switch and 'Behind My Back' routines, and several more. Only disadvantage is that it's in VHS format, so for those of you who've actually evolved technologically, that might be a problem. 88 pages short; runtime 31 minutes.
Kenton Knepper - Little Book of Wonders. $28.12 (Staple-bound booklet)In this Knepper booklet, Kenton tips a few of his neater effects, including popping popcorn in your hand, bending and then squishing spoons, and his handling of a classic mentalist principle. 60 pages short.
Jay Sankey - Twenty Years of Magic. $21.53 (Spiral-bound booklet)Compiling four of the Sank's classic lecture notes, this journal of Jay's magical evolution throughout the years not only chronicles one of the most offbeat minds in magic, it also has an arseload of handy effects. Cards, coins, bills, matches, lightbulbs, paper sheets, tickets, chewing gum, chopsticks, credit cards, pencaps, Bingo. You name it, Jay Sanks it. 65 pages short.
That's it for the magic stuff. I asked Aloy for permission to sell other, non-magic stuff, and he gave me the green light, so thanks to chief A for that. Just wish he'd buy something from here.
Blade (1998). $14.34 (Region 3 DVD)Watching this movie a year ago, I really enjoyed it- while I've moved on to films that I feel have more substance, this one's still a fun watch to sit down and enjoy. His mother being bitten by a vampire while giving birth, Blade (Wesley) is a half-vampire, half-man who has both sides' strengths, and none of their weaknesses. Alongside his mentor Whistler, Blade carries out an action-packed vendetta on vampires in general. 112 minutes of fun ensue.
The Batman Anthology (1989 - 1997). $66.22 (Boxed set with four 2-Disc DVD movies. Region 3)Way before Christopher 'Mementostige' Nolan's amazing 2005 blockbuster Batman Begins, there was Tim Burton's 1989 hit, Batman. In 1991, Burton followed up with Batman Returns, which while lacking the 'goo-boo-POW!' of the first one, was still a good movie overall. Then in 1995 and 1997, Joel Shoe-maker took over with Batman Forever and Batman & Robin (respectively) and the franchise turned more commercial and less true to the character of Batman. I bought this set for $89 a few months ago, and it's almost as good as new. Even if you aren't a big fan of the Dark Knight yourself, if you have kids they'll probably like it. And if they don't, well... check their pulse.
Well, that's it for now- post in this thread if you'd like to purchase any of the above, or PM me if you'd like to be a little more discreet. Thanks for reading so far, and if you haven't done so, go back to the top and start again- you might find something you like this time. Scroller.
