Wow...nice nice...
i'm happen to be so free today and READ all the post on the forum....
i dun noe, but based on my instinct, if he DARES to teach, he must be good...
i'm sure this is a consumer world, people wouldn't be so stupid to pay 25 to learn some piece of crap...
so, if he's good, and he chooses to teach by accepting money, i generally feel it's of not so big problem...since MC does the same...
and there's no law governing the teaching of magic anyway, you guys should have seen a lot, why get fussed up over that guy? -_-
*sigh*..i'm just pretty sad that magic is getting so "open" nowadays...
Ammar would have felt angry, if he knew magic learning can be make available easily and some from the internet somemore, instead of visiting&learning from places to places...:)
btw, the only thing i felt he's wrong is when he mentioned that, those magi who are not in the IBM(or SAM) sucks...
i'm very very very pretty sure he's wrong about that point :)
and MC teaches for 25 too, am i wrong? or left? :P
so rather, i would learn from MC...
Winder - November 28, 2004 04:30 PM (GMT)
Truthfully i would rather learn from a Shop Magician rather than a Mobile Magician especially when it comes to money, unless you can be sure he's someone trustworthy.
tai - November 28, 2004 04:30 PM (GMT)
i guess it is the way he put it that is funny
"My promise: Nothing spiritual. Confirm does not intrude any religion.
My cost from now till christmas will definitely be cheaper
than any shop in the world. (please dont forget this is my gift
to all in singapore.)"
Guess i should be teaching the people around me for free as my gift for christmas too ;p

I've got nothing against teaching for a fee, but if he teaches to the wrong types of people, this is not gonna be a gift...it's gonna be a blow to the magic community.
Winder - November 29, 2004 01:15 AM (GMT)
Yup it's sad that some "Magicians" doesn't know the code of conduct, revealing everything to their friends after performing. Thats why i believe that why some of us doesn't really want to teach friends or people who request, cause we can never be sure how interested can they get to or is it just a interest which is burning like mad now. Which will soon dies down, and i think the magician in that forum should consider about factors like "Leave the Teaching to the Professional" as Vjay has a Shop.
The "Magician" in the other forum claim that MagicCastle/StreetMagic/MagicExchange sells gimmick but he doesn't, cause he's not running a shop.
If that magician is here, i would say there's nothing wrong with gimmick. Every Magician will at least use a gimmick or so to perform an effect which our normal Sleight of Hands can't even do.

Can someone go there and type that you've learnt these tricks for $5 and are willing to teach it for the same price of $5? Then screw up his market or something...
Winder - November 29, 2004 03:15 AM (GMT)
The Mod of that forum has already locked his Thread.
BuaYa - November 29, 2004 03:26 AM (GMT)

Moondust - November 29, 2004 06:19 AM (GMT)
He claims that he can teach biting a local coin into half for 25 bucks. Does that include the...ummm...equipment? If so, ask him for a discount and buy it from him. It's a good price!
Winder - November 29, 2004 06:30 AM (GMT)

Btw i pmed the mod there.. bascially unless we can prove he is scamming the ppl there..there is no diff between he selling tricks and magic shop selling tricks, so he will not delete the thread.

Easy tiger....... B)
We are not to turn away anybody just because they are newbies and dun know anything. I think many in here were newbies not too long ago too? B)
We dun diss newbies. Because everyone has to start SOMEWHERE. We only diss newbies, or even "oldies" for the matter, with a bad/wrong attitude.
So do welcome them and answer their questions nicely :)

Moondust - November 30, 2004 07:18 AM (GMT)
People like this suffer from an ailment that's similar to compensating for Attention Deficit Disorder...for this case, I call it "Exposure Masturbation."
He seems to derive pleasure in exposing (and hell, he's expecting to get paid for it!) certain bits of information that are not available to the general public, not just for monetary gain but for self-gratification.
This inate pleasure is probably a form of self-compensation by indirectly displaying the fact that he has certain information that many don't, and for the fact that he does not respect the source and importance of this information by making it so easily available, he'll probably derive all the pleasure he wants by seemingly appear to be individually unique.
He reaches orgasm when someone takes the bait and sign up for his "lessons." Ultimate pleasure from constant, pulsating orgasms come when his students release positive feedback into the public.
It's like a prepubescent plagued by raging hormones who wouldn't stop jacking off after watching his first porn vid until his mama catches him wanking.
Somebody has to stop him before he develops a REAL sexual problem.
Regards, from your friendly Sex Therapist.
