Treasures Vol 1 by Alexander De Cova

If you are unfamiliar with Alexander, he is a German magician who is remarkable creative and whose magic is very clear and strong. His methods are direct & still well within the reach of most magicians.

The production values are modest. In his words “They have no budget for spectators” so it is just Alexander and the camera. However, this does not affect the clarity of the magic performance or teaching at all. A small number of the routines appear in his newer Enigmatic videos :)

My favourite routines from this volume are:

Chinese Money Mystery is a one-phase instant coins across where multiple coins vanish from one hand and instantly appear in another. However, he uses silver coins and there is nothing in the routine that suggests ‘Chinese’. The simple moves will require practice but is a strong visual coin effect.

Purse Swindle is a simple and novel routine that features his fabulous ‘shrinking’ silk vanish. It is an incredible silk vanish illusion that will fool people who know the standard silk vanish with a TT.

The Stand-up Deck Switch is a finesse handling of Edward Victor’s deck switch. This is a practical deck switch if you use a silk in a card routine.
