Title: Swiss Warbler Aka Prairie Whistle Aka Bird Whistle
Description: Good Quality

Magicdow - January 31, 2007 12:46 PM (GMT)
Check the video here.

I have these for sale at $6 each. These retails at 3.50 euros before shipping. You can probably get others at a cheaper price but this is the best in quality. I own some from different makers and I find that this is the easiest to play, loudest in sound and can last a long time. You can't even play some of the cheaper copies.

This is not your normal mouth squeaker. You can't talk with the mouth squeaker in your mouth, can't use it if the mouth squeaker is wet. The normal squeaker produces only one pitch. With practice you can use the warbler to produce different pitches.

There is a lot of usage for this item. You can replace the hand squeaker with this. You can talk with this in your mouth and can use it as and when you need to.

The warbler has a very good ventriloquial effect. Very little mouth and lip movement, if any, is necessary to form the many sounds. The quality of the sound makes it seem to come from somewhere other than the performer's mouth.

Dan Garrett has a book on this (I had a hard time trying to get this book) and he has plenty of ideas on this.

Besides imitating a bird, here are some of the things that you can do with it.

Make your Judy the mouse (or even Rocky Raccoon) squeak.
Make a bird from a 260 balloon squeak.
Squeak with every steps you take.
Make your sponge ball squeak (ala 3 card/ ball monte)
Make an invisble animal in a paper bag squeak.
Play an invisible violin.
Make a kid's elbow squeak.
and many more. Just use your imagination. ;)

Buyers can collect at Peninsula Plaza on weekdays. Buy 2 or more and I'll mail it to you at no additional cost. Registered mail to cost $2 more. Post here if you are interested. Thanks.

Boss, I will get 2. Thank you.

Magicdow - February 2, 2007 08:05 AM (GMT)
Just a note, after using it, you have to wash it. Wipe it dry and let it air dry before keeping it. This will help prolong the life of the warbler.

I went to Kranji yesterday and visited some of the farms. Used the warbler and the birds actually replied. I had a "conversation" with them using the warbler. ^_^

kinachi - February 14, 2007 06:13 AM (GMT)
Can I get one?

Magicdow - February 14, 2007 06:44 AM (GMT)
Of course you can. You know where to find me :) .

Magicdow - February 15, 2007 08:42 AM (GMT)
Just a note on how to use for owners.

Wet the warbler first. Put the warbler on the tongue (not at the tip but somewhere near the middle of the tongue. The white round part should be going into the mouth first. Push it to the roof of the mouth. Warbler should not be touching the teeth.

While still pressing with tongue, make the "shhhh" sound or say words like shoe, champagne etc. Experiment with the position of the warbler and try to make a squeak sound. Once you have a soft squeak, practice in that position. You'll eventually get it to be very loud.

To prolong the life of the warbler, wash it after use. Dry it with tissue and leave it to air dry for a day before keeping it in the bag.
