I have just released my new book, "Working the Crowd - A Guide to Performing Professional Close-Up".

Before I talk about it, I'd like to mention upfront that this book contains NO routines or effects whatsoever. Therefore, one will not find any new or "happening "routines to add to one's reportoire.

What I have put into it, however, are some guidelines on performing close-up at events, mainly corporate. These are based upon my experience as a close-up entertainer and I discuss issues such as effects to perform, the approach, routining, rejections and overall performance tips, amongst others. I also share my thoughts on performing magic effectively whilst working.

This is available directly from me. Number of copies are limited in this first run; if I do run out you can pre-order for the 2nd printing.

Hi, this is Pambudi.
I have bought the book last month, and now the book is in a miserable condition, because I brought it to the plane, bus, taxi, MRT, bed, toilet and even when I am taking my bath in the bath-up.
I read it again ..and again ... and again ....
This was the best investment I have made.
There are so many valuable lessons that you could learn form this book.
I wish I had this book when I started magic.
You cannot buy experiences, so thanks to Nique who shared his experiences with us.

yes, right, you will not find any "tricks" in this book, but, who need the tricks, you could find it anywhere else...
here, you will find everything that would make your trick a wonderfull magic effect ...

Arranging payment and delivery could be tricky.
Since you asked if anyone has a suggestion, I think the best way is just to set up an appointment according to your availability
e.g. you will be in mcdonald centerpoint (or any other place), on wednesday, 30 february at 18.00-18.30 (or any other date, I know we dont have 30 feb),
then everybody who need the book just go and meet you there,
you collect the money and you give them the book
easy right ?

For your mental effect, I think you could sell it here in magic market place.

To be extra safe, give everyone a serial number. Tell them to bring it or sms to their handphone. When collecting show it to you, you verify and strike it off to show that it has been collected. Less confusion and scamming

Nique, are u planning to have it made in hardbound in future? If yes i would prefer it hardbound. Else I would take the softbound one please.

I'm only free during weekends to collect. Or unless its near NUS then can arrange separately.

Payment-wise, u could either do it COD (cash on delivery) or prepayment. But i think not everyone has an accessible bank account to forward the money to you. So its actually up to you. U could do the signature thingy on the spot during collection, if u are afraid pple order and run away.

I think this book will sell anyway.^_^ Bet its good!

Once again, thank you all for your support in my book. To be honest, the reponse has been overwhelming.

As such, currently there aren't enough books to go around. But do not worry, I have already made a note of who's requested orders and there'll be a waiting list as well.

I will be printing my 2nd run asap to meet demand, and will make sure you all get your copies.



Cadbury - As for hardcovers, that may be in the future as they cost quite a bit to have them bound that way, and I haven't thought about doing so right now.

I will work something out; as I'm tied up with other engagements as well.

The new batch of "Working the Crowd" is out and ready to go. I've invested a little more to improve the quality over the previous sets, so I seek your understanding that the book will now be going for SGD$30 (which I think is quite reasonable still).

I'm thinking of arranging something of a mass meeting to hand you guys the books, as well as to handle the transactions. Maybe somewhere in town in the evening? Let's say we make it this Friday evening... how many of you guys can make it?

The cover of the new batch has a slightly harder and a nicer finish than the first print. There is also another difference in terms of... due to sensitive issues, let's use the word "design". Will explain when we meet.

Tell you all what. I'll bring both versions, then I'll let you guys choose which you'd prefer. Perhaps that's the best way to do it.

The trick to a successful meetup is to select a time and place and announce it and let everyone make their own arrangements to make it. It is simply not possible to find a time and place that's convenient for everyone so let them to make their own arrangements.
