Title: Linking Rings
Description: Fixing them
sheeke - February 7, 2007 11:13 PM (GMT)
Hey guys, what would u guys do if your linking rings broke?
Hmm, ive been introduced to epoxy but it didnt work =(.
Welding them back together was an option but where to find a welder?
Any other ways of fixing them?
I bought my from uday (murphys) through a shop
REGRETEd it. they were really heavy and unbalanced.
Jermery pei introduced me to his set, but its kinda costly for a student,
but his rings woah soild man, and has the perfect weight!
Their excellent.
Any other options?

The only way to save your ring is to look for a welder. Check those that replace or repair motor car exhaust. Yellow page may help.

I would suggest not looking for a welder cos it may be costly and not worth it. How bout getting a new set of rings instead since CNY is around the corner.
Jeremy Pei's set is now abt SGD$300.
Its a realli good price, but if you find it really too steep, you may want to consider getting from Steven's Magic.
http://www.stevensmagic.com/shopping/shopexd.asp?id=1464Their rings are 10inch, made of aluminum and has a magnetic locking key.
It costs abt US$85 not inclusive of shipping.
So once its shipped here, the total cost would be about SGD$200.
Its a good set, ask Benny or Incarneto as they use it.
For me, i use Jeremy Pei's. whahaha.

Jeremy's set are 12inch rings. Stainless steel and hollow. if you dont mind a 2nd hand set, i may well consider selling u my set. cos i prefer his new set as they're heavier.

No probs bro. Jam together one of these days. =)

A welder will charge you less than $10.00 to mend your ring, but you must file the excessive weld yourself. Silver brace the broken part will give you less work on the filing but may cost a few dollars more.
You can of course get a new set. I will recommend Dokkum Ring coz they are of hollow brass or stainless steel.

Broderick, perhaps you can take some reference from this thread that I posted some time ago. There's quite a number of recommendations and views from everyone there.

Boderick, i recommend that u start the sentence with a capital letter, end with a full stop, and cut down on "sms" language. to save your own skin.
Also check back previous posts so that you do not post unrevelent stuff.

Just wonder that what is the different between Linking Ring and Ninja Ring?
is it the same thing but different way of performing the magic or it's is a differetn between this two?
anyone can tell the different? :o :o :o
yong_tianadeline - October 16, 2007 03:07 AM (GMT)
Linking Rings are stage size rings. Can vary in sizes eg 8'', 10" etc. Ninja rings are for close-up linking ring effects. They are much smaller in size, easy to bring around and good for walking-around. The technique for either one can be applied (most of the time) to both.
AhLiShuFi - October 16, 2007 05:02 AM (GMT)
In terms of technique, I beg to differ. Some may well intercross, but when performing ninja rings, the crash link for example works better at closeup. It doesnt look as sweet if you were to do it on stage with the bigger set of rings. You have to try both and you will realise the difference between the two.

Thanks AhLiShuFi and yong_tianadeline.
now i can regularly know the different of this 2 rings.

May I suggest you read up the forum rules 1st if you haven't done so.
Making useless one liner is very detrimental to your post count. That was also the reason your other account was suspended.
